POLAR LODGE. KANGERLUSSUAQ. I had decided to sleep in this village - "airport" just to improve the high price of the a more convenient flight to return to CPH, and also because I thaught it was possible to visit the Ice Cap or some glacier. Well, nothing to visit if your flights are around midday: no time. The best of... More

i had such a nice trip to kangerlussq , stayed at the polar lodge - chartered a plane and flew over the ice caps, went moose spotting, long walks, went to the cemetery -with its lone occupant, golf course, walked over the ice cap and the glacier, amazing trip, ate at the airport hotel , but the dumbest thing on... It's hard to give the Polar Lodge a four star rating, but considering where you are, it's not bad. Rooms are small but clean (I had a single), shared bathrooms and showers were across the hall. Good hot water in the shower. Breakfast was basic but good. The lodge also offers guests the services of a kitchen including a microwave.... More

Stayed at Polar Lodge for two nights. Location is ideal near the airport. Room was a bit small but clean and plenty of storage space. Room was cleaned every day. Yes, its shared bathrooms but we never waited in the morning and it was very clean. Not great deal of choice for breakfast but food was tasty.

The hotel just a minute walk from the airport. A simple nice hotel with clean and ok sized rooms. Lots of pics from greenland and the arctic feel of the hotel is perfect. Donr worry if the hotel isnt a 5 star, you are probably not here to stay in your room all day anyways? You can arrange lots of... More

frankly, this place is way, way too pricey, at 785DK per night! as is the hotel in the airport (single 1350DK per night) (the reason for me staying in the hostel). as a comparative Nuuk cost me 400DK per night for a room in a super house, and in ilulissat I paid about 650DK for a fantastic studio on the... 785 DKK for a single room with no bathroom is an extortionate price by any measure, even for Greenland. This place other than the price is acceptable enough: basic breakfast included, clean rooms, single beds, shared bathrooms in the hall. Sound insulation is definitely an issue if it's busy. Location is convenient for the airport though: just a short walk... More

Polar Lodge, Kangerlussuaq The hotel is located only 100 meters from the terminal. The room was small and with common toilet and bathroom. There are not many options in Kangerlussuaq so for one night it is ok to get next days flight, but expensive. It was clean and the reception helpful.

My wife and returned recently from a three-night stay at ”Polar Lodge” in Kangerlussuaq (Søndre Strømfjord) in Western Greenland. It was our third visit to the area (but first stay at Polar Lodge). The purpose was simply to get more of the northern lights. Kangerlussuaq is sitting just north of the Polar Circle about 180 km inland from the sea.... More

Stayed in this hostel as part of a Greenland Travel holiday. The rooms were warm and comfy with twin beds pushed together for a double and a desk. Wifi is expensive at 50 danish kroner for 30 mins and the phone signal was poor. There were 2 showers and loos between 5 or so rooms. These could have been cleaner... More
