The Union is definitely the best value in Alex. The tip I can give is pay the little extra for the deluxe rooms on the top floor. They are still dirt cheap & worth it. Not at all impressed with this hotel- it was cheap at E119 (inc.BREAKFAST) but service was poor, sheets looked clean but very crinkled, bathroom a bit dirty, beds like rock and our room near reception was very noisy with people talking outside until late. In a country where paying more doesn't necessarily mean you get more, Hotel Union definitely was a wonderful surprise. For a 2 Star hotel, it was better than my 4 Star stay in Cairo. Hubby + I stayed 1 night @ Union Hotel. Twin room was hugh but furniture very old. Used the shared bathroom which was clean. It is right on the corniche so good location.
