I chose the Hotel Egypt from tripadvisor reports, and had no reason to regret my decision. Small in size, just one floor, the fifth, on a street off the Corniche, but the room I was allocated faced the harbour, so I woke to see the Med. A nice balcony too. Breakfast like most hotels in Egypt was simple, but then... More

My two friends and I stayed one night. The room was clean, the atmosphere pleasant, the staff friendly, and the beds comfortable. The view was great. It was quite noisy between the traffic on the Corniche on one side and the tram on the other. Great location for sightseeing though.

A nice budget hotel in the Downtown of Alexandria. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Most of the rooms facing towards the sea, ask for one. The rooms are basic but neat and clean. The washrooms are small for a family. It is located in the old building on the 3rd or 4th floor (I cant remember). The elevator of... More

Stayed 2 nights as part of a Geckos tour. Hotel occupies 1 floor of a building that was built around 1900. The lift looked positively scary but worked fine when I was game enough to use it! Otherwise just take the stairs. Lots of antique furniture, paintings, tapestries etc around. The rooms are very basic but clean enough. Location is... More

The Egypt Hotel is located on the 3rd floor of an office building in a pretty decent location on A 10-minute walk to the Library of Alexandria and maybe 25-30 minutes to the Citadel of Qaitbay - a nice walk along the coastline and past the beaches. Plenty of reasonable coffee shops & restaurants in very close proximity to the... More

We picked this hotel based on lonely planet saying it was the only reasonable mid-range in Alexandria. Not sure we would call it mid-range anywhere else but was good compared to other places we have stayed in Egypt - rooms were a little run-down (torn lino, door to balcony didn't completely close) and while the balcony overlooking the corniche was... The Hotel is located in the middle of the Corniche and the rooms can be noisy because of the streets but the friendly staff and the location make up for the street noise. Anyway, it's Alexandria so enjoy it's vibe :)

We stayed here 2 nights with our tour group. This is an old building that is laid out a bit odd. There are businesses on the first two floors, and the hotel on the next two. The hotel itself is fine - there wasn't really much difference from the rest of the standard class hotels in this country. They are... More

We only stayed here one night. I would recommend you ask to see the room before you accept. We had a group of 9 people and while everyone agreed it was the worst hotel we stayed in during our 14 day tour, the rooms did vary quite a bit. Our room size was decent, but the floor boards upon entering... More
