The aro Palace has been rebuilt in a fabulous city centre location. Brasov is a good centre for tourism - Bran Castle is very near and Peles castle is not far away. The hotel has a most impressive lobby with bar and restaurant. The rooms were large, well equipped and generally pleasant. Nearby there are pedestrianised streets with bars, resaurants... more

Its a shame they remolded the hotel. I found the experience extremely hilarious that all the furniture and fixtures were like a movie set back in the "Sinatra" era...The elevator was big enough for me and my luggage, ONLY. The booths in the dining room were big enough for 8( I was by myself) ...bathroom tub/shower had a step that... more

We stay here two nights. A Friday and Saturday night. Firday was fine but be aware that Saturday is wedding day in Romania and this is the best hotel in Brasov, so this is where they hold the Weddings & Receptions, and the party is all night long. Remember also that Smoking is very much a part of Eastern European... more

The Hotel staff was courteous and professional. Gabi was extremely helpful. I got an older room in the old tower. It was an art deco style room and I loved the decor, though somewhat dated. The bathroom needed some renovation, but I guess I paid a low price and was barely in my room. The view was amazing. Breakfast was... more

Newly renovated hotek with nice rooms, yet the stuff, specailly at front desk, is quite rude. Pls. note that although price is Euro, payment upon check-out can't be done in cash in Euro, only in Lei or credit card. In addition, though breakfast is served till 10am, I suggest you arrive to dinning room no later than 8:30, as after... more

I believe the prior reviews were all written before the recent (mostly) completed renovations. I say mostly because there is some construction which appears to be either a parking lot or some sort of outdoor pool area. The newer part of the hotel, where we stayed (without tipping the front desk) was totally up to western standards. I don't know... more

I know how hard it is to find a hotel for Brasov before you get there. There are very few hotels listed on the Internet, and travel agents don't know of them. So, even though I do not recommend the "Aro Palace", you can use it if you have to. Personally, if you do not know of other hotels, I... more

We stayed at the Aro Palace a couple of weeks ago and found it to be very clean and well appointed. The lobby is a little creepy as it is a large, cavernous place with leather sofas sitting atop marble floors with excessive light from heavy chandeliers. This, mixed with the cold, formal approach of the staff, made me feel... more

Nice hotel, seemed to be the nicest in Brasov. Stayed here in late July in the new wing. Construction was still going on but it should be very nice once finished. We had reservations with a confirmed price from them in an email; however, once we arrived they mysteriously did not have our reservation. They then quoted us a different... more
