Hotel is fairly typical European hotel with a fantastic location and friendly, accommodating staff. Our room overlooked the church tower next door and beautiful mountains as the backdrop. Room is large by European standards and very clean. Bathroom could stand an update, but everything was in working order. The shutters block out the light and noise, but be aware that... More

This is a nice hotel in the old town. Room was bigger than expected. Fixtures were dated but adequate. Thin blankets were provided, so a problem for couples who fight over temperature :). Breakfast was more than expected. Omelets can be ordered. Coffee is just instant coffee. We did not hear any noise other than the church bells (Sunday through... More

We were not staying at the hotel but were looking for an 'economical' breakfast that was a little more substantial. The hotel advertised breakfast for 4 Euros which we thought would be healthy cereal and standard slice of meat, cheese and bread. We could have this however we could also have an omelette, or bacon and eggs (3), plus fresh... More

The trip was to trace the past. It was wonderful. The city it self is a unique place. Quite, historical and peaceful. The Hotel Marija is in the middle of the old town. Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. The Kotor is the place where variety of food, antiques, living art shops are. And off course the Sea. The... More

My wife and I stayed a couple of nights, and we enjoyed that the hotel is in the middle of the old town. The rooms are decent and the staff very friendly and helpful. On Sunday morning, we had the mixed pleasure of being awakened at 7AM by the bells from three churches very close to the hotel - but... More

The pros: Location: fantastic - right by the St. Nicholas church in Kotor's old town, it is a great base to explore the Bay of Kotor in. It is around a 2min walk from the main gate into Kotor's old town and a 10-12min walk to the Kotor main bus station. Staff: super friendly and accommodating. They spoke good English... More

The Hotel Marija (Maria) is right in the center of the old town. As Kotor is a walled city anything in side the wall will get the noise from the street. We were in a room that looked over the main entrance. It was great but noisy at night. The breakfast and WIFI is very good. The room and bath... More

My wife and I spent nearly three weeks in this hotel while we looked for more permanent housing in the area. This was my second visit to Kotor and my second stay at the Hotel Marija. I found the facilities to be comfortable. The staff, in particular, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with hot dishes made to order.... More

A truly great location in the old city. I seen other reviewers complain about noise and I was a bit worried but in my top floor room and at this time of the year it was no problem whatsoever. I also had a nice view from my window, free wifi and air-condition. Breakfast was also good.

We had been led to believe that this hotel was going to be very good, so we were disappointed with our stay here. The hotel itself looks quaint from the outside and is in a good location near to the centre of Kotor. Our room overlooked an alleyway with the wall of the building opposite barely more than 1.5 metres... More
