Super close to the bus station and the beach but not so close to the old town which would be the only fault to this hostel. However, it's Pierre that really makes this place worth going to. He goes out of his way to entertain and socialise with the guests and makes sure everyone is always having a good time.... More

I stayed at the Wild Fig a while back (been meaning to write this review for ages!) and I have to say, it's hard to fault the place. Delightfullly friendly and helpful staff, spacious outside lounging area - with spaces in the sun and shade - comfy beds, with no hint of hostel-bed-squeak and a massive kitchen with supermarket close... stayed here with my boyfriend in August. Hostel was very easy to find from bus station, hostels directions are spot on. The hostel has a relaxed friendly atmosphere and has themed nights which we didn't attend because we spent our evenings in old town but they looked fun. Hostel had cool simple ideas such as shared tolietry box and had... More

The first thing you will notice in Wild Fig is the relaxed atmosphere made by owners, people that work/vokunteer there, and the guests. The lounge area is great, terrace as well, and there is always a spot for you to park your car, and leave it there while you are visiting other places around Zadar. Rooms and bathrooms are always... Had such a fantastic time in Zadar and most of the credit goes to this charming hostel and it's staff. Extremely central yet away from the bustle of Old Town, this place was ideal to chill out, have a glass (or three) of beautiful wine and wind down and recharge the batteries. Staff are extremely knowlageble and are more than... More

This hostel provides the fundamentals - warm shower, wifi, comfy bed - which I think all hostel users look for. However on top of that, - The staff are enthusiastic, personable and very keen to help out those travellers who might be experiencing the "I don't know where to go next" crisis. - There is an awesome bar - A... Wild Fig You make our heart jig You make everything ... Groovy This is an absolute 'diamond in the rough' of a hostel! Located excellently; 10 mins from bus station, cash point with a supermarket next door. The old town is approximately 20 mins by foot; or one could rent cycles (at very cheap rate). The hostel itself is very... More

This was my 3rd stay at this hostel within a year, so I think that kinda says enough. I mean, Croatia on its own is amazing, but I always keep coming back for this hostel! The owners are just the loveliest people I have ever met :) Location is a bit far away from the old city center, but I... More

Beautiful hostel, cosy and spotlessly clean rooms, lovely friendly staff, great location. Hammocks on balcony a particular highlight. Zadar is also absolutely lovely. Will be recommending to all my friends.

I've never stayed in a hostel before and was a bit unsure as what to expect. After arriving here hoping they had 4 beds for the night I was pleasantly surprised how welcoming all the staff were and how informative. The facilities were great a fantastic atmosphere. This has 100% changed my views on hostels and I can't wait to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in a spacious converted Croatian building in the charming suburb of Arbanasi, our hostel has traditional yet clean and modern features. The owners, two friends, Sat and Ness, from the UK and OZ who met traveling offer a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. We are only 10 minutes' walk from the famous beaches, bars and cafes of Kolovare and a 20 minute stroll from the Old Town of Zadar and its maze of fascinating streets and buildings. Our rooms are clean, spacious and are kitted with comfortable mattresses. The ground floor has four large dorms (4,8,6,10 beds) with high ceilings - our private and twin double rooms are located upstairs with separate facilities and two of our private rooms have terraces. Our hostel has a beautiful spacious garden where you can relax and unwind and a large terrace with hammocks and lounge chairs and views of the velibit mountains. Our hostel has a licensed bar serving fresh coffee, local beers, smoothies, fresh juices and local wine. We have regular BBQs, quiz nights, games nights, and curry nights. We also have a large and fully equipped guest kitchen with a local supermarket just 2 minutes' walk away. Our hostel features a comfortable and spacious lounge area, providing the perfect place to sip a drink, listen to music and meet people from around the world. Upstairs we have a peaceful sun terrace with views of the mountains, a lovely place to bring a book and relax. Our guests are welcome to use our free Wi-fi internet.Whilst we are not located in the Old Town, you can still have fun in our hostel bar or we can arrange a taxi ride into town costing only a few euros. We want to make this the place in Zadar to relax, chill out and experience the simplicity of the Croatian lifestyle. Our guests have described our hostel as 'romantic, intimate, charming, inviting and peaceful - yet a fun place to be'. So whether you're stopping over on your way to the Dalmatian archipelago of islands or looking for a place to kick back and unwind for a few days, The Wild Fig Hostel is a home away from home. Do get in touch with us if you have any specific requirements. Thank you, Sat and Ness :) ... more   less
