Sipanska Luka is a beautiful part of the Island of Sipan, about 45 mins from Dubrovnic by boat. Hotel Sipan is the only hotel on its side of the island but there are other places to get rooms. Out of the 2 hotel on SIPAN, this is the best set. The harbour is lovely and there are 3-4 resturants / bars. Small beach 1/2 mile walk. We splurged and got a 'room with a view'. Unfortunatley the hotel's apparently recently installed AC couldn't function because of the inadequate electricity supply, and the hotel lacked any form of historic ambiance that one would expect from its exterior. The hotel lies beautifully on the head of a very deep bay overlooking lots of little islands. The rooms are very nice. The hotel I was told had been completely renovated in 2007. In brief the island is beautiful when we were there it was 36 degrees in the shade and too hot for us to sit out in between 11am and 3.00pm. If you are not a heat lover don't go in July/August. I stayed here with my girlfriend for two weeks. We found the hotel staff very friendly. We thought the island was fab. There wasn't much to do at all - but that's what we liked about it. My partner and I spent six nights in this hotel recently in a 'superior room' and although we loved the village of Sipanluka, we felt the hotel certainly didn't live up the marketing.
