Ivo and family picked us up from the bus station, carefully lettered sign in hand. He was so proud of that sign. His affable nature and enthusiasm were the themes of our stay there. As others have noted before, you stay in his house, with his family, and Boobie, the family Pekingese-ish dog, which gives you an insight into everyday... more

I recently stayed at Ivo's Rooms in Dubrovnik for 4 nights. Ivo and his family are friendly and open to their guests. The location is excellent, but very quiet. The room and bathrooms are clean, no complaint. I think it is one of the best places if you want to see how Croatians live and talk to them. Ivo welcomes... more

No recommended... We recently stayed here for two non-consecutive nights. The location was just outside the city walls to old Dubrovnik. Ivo picked us us from the airport for about the same rate as a taxi would charge. If you email/call Ivo months/weeks/etc. in advance he doesn't actually hold a room for you. The first night we were staying there... more

Ivo and his wife met us at the bus station, and made us feel very welcome. We were given the room without the balcony and ensuite bathroom at first, which wasn't a big problem but we had booked months in advance for the room with an ensuite bathroom and balcony. Ivo was very apologetic and we got the room we'd... more

My sister and I stay with Ivo, his wife Vesna and his family in May and had a fantastic time. Ivo is one of the most positive people we've ever met and he really made our time in Dubrovnik a special experience. We stayed in the balcony room with the ensuite bathroom which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The... more

We met Ivo at the bus station in Dubronik, and he offered us an apartment within the walls, with A/C, for about $80US/night. He gave us a ride into the city, and the apartment was perfect. 1 bedroom with bath, and a small kitchen and living room area. It also had a small balcony. It was exceptionally clean, the bed... more

We stayed with Ivo in early May. He was very responsive when booking and offered to collect us from the airport for €20. We would recommend taking this offer if you have awkward suitcases to carry, or have a natural suspicion of taxi-drivers worldwide. Ivo was already waiting for us at the airport and texted us so that we knew... more

We stayed with Ivo and his family in his excellent good value for money rooms (literally) a stones throw from the historic city walls. This is a not a place for those who wish to be pampered by the five star hotel experience but then neither is it a five star price. This is a good value for money experience... more

My wife and I spent Christmas holiday in Dubrovnik with Ivo and his family. The room was very nice and comfortable and was located right across the street from the old town city walls. We had limited time in Dubrovnik, and we wanted to make several day trips to nearby areas such as Kotor, Sarejavo, and Mosta. We were unable... more
