As many others have said, one of the main advantages is that this is in the Old Town, most of the others being a bus ride away. We had room 402, and to counter others opinions it is not noisy, if you have the windows shut and the very quiet Air Con on. Relativley expensive, and so is all Dubrovnik,... more

The location is splendid - right in the middle of the old town in a narrow street - and it's a lovely old building, beautifully converted. It won't do, however, for people who can't climb stairs or for those who object to carrying their own luggage a short way from the old town gate (no cars allowed). The rooms are... more

Unbeatable location (as other reviewers have noted, it's one of only two hotels in the city). The single room is a decent size, for a European hotel, and is very clean; the breakfast is excellent; the staff is very friendly; and the unique hotel terrace gives you a panoramic view of the city that rivals the view from the city... more

The Stari Grad has a terrific location right inside the old city walls (one of only 2 hotels in the old town). Staff were very helpful beforehand in emails advising us on parking, so there was absolutely no problem arriving there. Our room was very attractively decorated and furnished, as was the whole of the hotel. In a hot September... more

This comfortable, quiet, and beautifully appointed hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old city. The hotel is intimate with friendly staff who collect your room key as you go out each day, and feels like the perfect way to do Dubrovnik. The well air-conditioned rooms are quite comfortable in the blistering heat of August. Breakfast on the... more

My husband and I recently stayed here for 2 nights and we enjoyed it immensely. The 2 big pluses . . the location and the wonderful roof terrace. If you want old town ambience, this place is perfect. If you need big hotel luxuries or take considerable luggage, this is not the place for you (stay out of the old... more

If you are visiting Dubrovnik and can afford to stay in the old town you must do it. It is wonderful to have the haven of a hotel so close by and it gives you the chance to see the town without the hordes from the cruises. This hotel was a wonderful location, it was quiet and the roof terrace... more

We have stayed at this hotel about the same time as the gentlemen below and we wonder if we even stayed at the same hotel, since our experience was completely different. The rooms are specious and furnished with such a taste. We couldn't hear any noises and since the hotel lies in a very quiet street, we slept every morning... more

It’s easy to see how the guide books could be fooled by this place as it’s newly remodeled and pleasant appearing. What the guide books don’t tell you is that no cars are allowed in the old city and you have to haul all your luggage on foot for a good distance to the hotel. Furthermore, the hotel is vertical... more

What a great location, bang in the middle of the old town. The hotel is clean with nice spacious rooms. The bathrooms are modern and clean although anyone over 6 foot might struggle in those strange capsule showers. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a short stay - when we were there it was well into the 30+ temperature wise... more
