Four of us stayed at the Hotel Lero for 5 days in June 2009. The hotels in or immediately next to the old walled town are very expensive. The many hotels in Gruz / Lapad are about 2 miles from the old town. Lero is about a mile from the old town, you can walk it in 20 minutes, a... more

Room was okay size as economy hotel. We stayed in a twin room with a small sofa. Room we stayed had a ocean view which was a plus! We were on the 1st floor so could get wireless signal sometime. The hotel had free wireless internet on the ground floor. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Reservation manager was... more

We have stayed at the Lero on several occasions since it gives a reduced rate for those attending conferences. We enjoy the walk into the old city and the cleanliness of the hotel, as well as the reduced rate. That's it. I don't believe it was ever intended for couples. On a rainy day, two people in a room bump... more

Hotels in Dubrovnik are a problem. You can stay in the old town and pay outrageous prices or stay on the Lapad Peninsula and take the bus in and out of the old town. The Lero provides an alternative about ten minutes walk from the old town and probably offers the best value. After recent renovations the rooms have a... more

We chose this as a last minute hotel when we decided to stay in Dubrovnik instead of Korcula. A lot of hotels were already booked out, or closed during the off season. Hotel Lero was in a convenient location, a short walk down the hill to the Old Town and in the other direction to the port and the main... more

Booked through Expedia. Room cost £30. Receptionist quick and efficient. Room was average size, very clean, must have been recently modernised as it looked like a 'showroom' - anyone with a new bathroom will know what I mean they are really difficult to keep looking immaculate! Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was pretty poor, quality was fine but very little... more

The lodging options in Dubrovnik aren't great. Probably the best budget option is to try for a Sobe (private room) close to old town. Since we were going to be arriving late, we figured a traditional hotel might work better for us. But then your options are generally either to pay through the nose to stay close to old town,... more

This hotel will not excite you. Everything about it is worn, from a lummpy bed to stained carpets. The room is cleaned, but desperately needs a complete renovation. I did not eat at the restaurant, but the breakfast looked like the usual fare - you will be fed. The staff was friendly enough. But the rooms are fairly poor, although... more

I have spent 3 weeks over 2 trips to Croatia, and was not impressed with Hotel Lero. It was definitely below standard. My two main complaints were the noise level and the smell of my room. My room smelled like fish - enough that I was looking for a dead fish under and in the beds. Even more of a... more

This hotel was a fantastic stay! The location is a pleasant (though hilly) 10 minute walk from the old city walls but not in the new city by a long stretch! I booked direct with the hotel who were overwhelmed by someone doing their best with a Croat phrasebook - but spoke excellent English from booking through to the end.... more
