The staff were fantastic, and the setting is great. But do not be drawn into the half board arrangement. The evening buffet leaves a lot to be desired and resemles nothing so much as a motorway service area, with food kept hot under lights. We stayed at the Hotel Villas Kolocep for five days in early July. Kolocep Island is reached via ferry from Gruz harbour, quite easy to get to from Dubrovnik airport and the ferries are regular, and only takes around 25 mins to reach. A small, car free Island, not much to do but chill out and relax. When we go there we instantly relaxed where normally it takes a few days to get into the swing of holiday. Regular ferries take you to near by Islands and beautiful Dubrovnik. The only sandy beach is by the hotel there are no other sandy beaches... more
