Hotel location is great as it is a quick bus ride to downtown yet a block to the Lapad beach and nature walk as well as the pedestrian walkway that is packed with restaurants which cater to a local crowd - Sunday afternoon was wonderful and made me forget the crowds of the Old City. And it was far enough... more

Hotel komodor Dubrovnik. comfortable and clean, that is it. Cold buffet breakfast ok, hot section pretty disgusting. I had one evening meal very boring ,unappetizing, advise booking bed and breakfast no other meals, there are far too many good restaurants in old town to waste money here.Front of house staff good ,house keeping good, bar staff useless ,three times Ihad to... more

First of all, this hotel is not luxury and it is not in central Dubrovnik. You have to take a twenty minute bus journey to the beautiful centre of Dubrovnik. People later advised us that you can rent an apprtment in cnetral Dubrovnik for less than we paid for the room and I would strongly advise doing tis if possible.... more

OMG! It was horrifying and it just proves the old adage "you get what you pay for." The lobby looked well enough, but my room was on the 4th floor which was inaccessible by elevator. So I had to lug my heavy suitcase up the stairs. The 4th floor must be where old Party members go to die because it... more

We have just spent a week at this hotel and came away very happy, despite reservations after reading a couple of the posts. The staff - front office, reception and dining room, were all really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is small but perfectly adequate and the pool area is a bit sterile, being next to a busyish road,... more

Stayed in the Hotel Komodor for two weeks during July and August 2007 with my wife and 7 year old daughter. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed with free air conditioning. The Hotel had a smallish pool that was ideal for our 7 year old. It was kept clean and in good order. The hotel staff were efficient and... more

We stayed at the Komodor in July 2007, our room on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the stunning Lapad bay was well worth paying a little extra for. We went half board and there was an excellent varied choice of buffet style fresh food available for breakfast and evening meals. All the staff at the hotel are really... more

Very dissappointing Hotel. Yes the room had been refurbished but the bathrooms were small and horrible. The swimming pool was too cold to use. The staff with the exception of the cleaners were unfriendly. more

We have just returned from a two week holiday in Dubrovnik . The Komodor is a small comfortable hotel. The staff are very friendly. The food which was buffet style was generally good with plenty of variety. The Komodor is close to a small pebbly beach and on the bus route to Dubrovnik. A very enjoyable holiday. more

We booked the hotel because the description of 'small, friendly. family run' sounded great. But the reality was just the opposite. We had booked half board (DBB) but only ate the first night in the 'restaurant' which was like a works canteen. Very poor menu, eg overcooked poor quality steak, uneatable fish, stale bread, overcooked vegetables. Breakfast even worse; fresh... more
