We stayed in this hotel for two nights during our Croatian tour this summer and I must say we truly enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We were particularly impressed with our room which was located in the newly renovated part of the hotel. Room was very spacious and clean….and bathroom was just OMG….our own jacuzzi….we... more
But NOT today. This hotel was once a gem of a place. Tito used to put people up in here. They book (and charge you) a parking place but if you drive away for an afternoon ride, your place will be rebooked (and recharged to another person). "We're sorry" is... more
For the majority of our time in Croatia, we stayed in private accomodations, but for the first night there, I wanted to be in a hotel - after 18 hours of traveling, I wanted the security of a "homebase" knowing there would be people there who spoke English, could provide information about ferry and bus schedules, and book reservations. The... more
We satyed at this hotel for one night as a break in the guided tour bus ride from the north down to Dubrovnik. The town is worth a day's look as it contains Diacletian's Palace which is a sight to behold. The hotel is interesting. Our room (number 514) was on the back and very quiet with excellent air-conditioning. It... more
SPLIT, Croatia: Hotel President If you are looking for a comfortable hotel in the seaside town of Split on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia, I’d warmly recommend Hotel President****. Although not entirely family run, the delightful owners and the pleasant and most helpful/efficient staff make you feel at home. The position is excellent – 5 min walk from the ancient... more
