We stayed here at the end of July 2014 for a 3 night stay. The Rooms are made up of 5 rooms in a converted apartment on the 3rd floor of an old block. The 78 steps were not a problem - we decided after all the food and drink we consumed, they did us good! We booked the cheapest... More

If you don't mind climbing 75 steps , La Porta Luxury rooms overlook the docks where the cruise ships anchor. The local colourful fruit and vegetable market, a supermarket , a pharmacy is a one minute walk. The promenade is two minutes away. The staff is very helpful , right from carrying bags to suggest restaurants.

We stayed for a week with friends having seen the reviews which were spot on. Brilliant location beside the Diocletian Palace walls which gave us a great base for getting around and a very short walk into the city. Rooms are modern, clean, and have good quality bed/bathroom. Very friendly helpful staff. The quiet aircon somebody mentioned is essential.

We stayed only one night and we found it the most comfortable (beds) room. It is small, but the bathroom is big. There are no tubes you have to climb to take a shower. The stairs would be the only downsize, but as they carry your bags, it was not a problem. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. It... More

We booked our room very last minute and were slightly concerned about the 3 flights of stairs. However we were met at the bus station, taken to the hotel, had our bags carried up to our rooms. We were also given fabulous advice on where to eat at night. Breakfast was in the Palace and included in huge price for... More

We just arrived back from a three night stay at La Porta and we're seriously considering upgrading our bathroom as we loved the shower in our sea view room so much. The building entrance took a bit of finding but the location is perfect - right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle but with the option of... More

We had amazing service while staying at this place. Marin, one of our hosts, met us at the ferry dock, escorted us to our secure overnight parking (2 blocks away from LaPorta), and carried both my friend's and my luggage and backpacks the two blocks and up 4 flights of steps to a beautifully done room. All questions were handled... More

Overall these rooms are very comfortable in an excellent location with very helpful and friendly staff. GOOD: Location, Staff, Room furnishings, exceptionally quiet air conditioning. BAD: Breakfast, Cash only payments (no credit cards accepted!) The rooms would probably be difficult to find unless you were met from your airport transport as we were! Furnishings and shower are all of a... More

New, clean, comfortable and perfectly located room across a small lane from the Silver Gate into Diocletian's Palace and only 5 minute walk from the ferry dock. Helpful and friendly staff -- met us at our car, carried our luggage thru old town and up to our room (4 floor), suggested good restaurants, etc. Good breakfast included at Tifanie's restaurant... We are just back from a long weekend to Split and if anyone is thinking about a mini-break and wrestling with where to go, I cannot recommend Split highly enough. The centre is magical, full of cafés, restaurants, narrow alley ways down which you will nearly always find yet another hidden bar or cafe teeming with people. I am reviewing... More
