The Crooked River Lodge is a great location. The hotel itself is very clean and quiet. There are several bike trails in the area which is what our trip was focused on. They let you store your bikes in the lobby. The hotel is a short distance to Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Traverse City, Charlevoix, etc. We had a wonderful dinner... More

We drove up to Alanson, Mi for a color tour of the area. Tuesday night the 7th of October we stayed at the Clarion Collection Crooked River Lodge. What a treat. The place is large and cozy at the same time. The folks who operate the lodge are friendly and helpful. All the rooms are riverfront with balconies. Four of... More

Surprised to find out it's no longer a Clarion. The entire place was well appointed and maintained. Bed was comfortable. We were a little disappoited in a few thing...#1 greeted by three dogs behind the front desk and a screaming child. #2 the breakfast was very disappointing as it only had high carb items and weak coffee.

My wife and I have traveled extensively for years, but have never felt compelled to write a review about a hotel before now. I'll keep it short in hopes that I hit the major points of this remarkable hotel. Northern Michigan is noted for it's friendly hospitality but the management there made us feel amost like family from the moment... More

We just spent 2 nights at the lodge - booked through one of the golf courses - and I wasn't sure what to expect based on the TA reviews. 1st - we were treated very well - friendly front desk staff - smooth check in / check out - our room was very clean - well 'appointed' - comfortable beds/pillows,... I am in the process of making my third reservation at Crooked River Lodge. I got alittle wrapped up in the review and comments. There has not been a time that I was ever treated badly or disrespected while staying at the lodge. It has a very "home" feeling and the owners and staff project this. My sister-in-law also has... We stayed here three years ago for our anniversary trip and, when our other travel plans changed last weekend, we were excited to return! Despite that our request for a room was last minute -- their lobby closed an hour after we called -- the front desk staff member we spoke to offered to stay a bit later since we... More

We stayed in a jacuzzi room and it was ok. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. However, the rooms was very noisy for the price range of this hotel. You can hear everything that goes on in the neighboring room and if you are near the elevators you can feel the vibrations of the elevator moving. Also the room was a... More

We here at the Crooked River Lodge strive to provide the highest level of guest service possible. I am the owner and have been in the hotel business for 30 of my 38 yrs. I would like to vouch for my staff as to their attitude towards guests. I have never had a staff so motivated towards cutomer service as... More

We were there for our wedding anniversary in October of 2007 and despite being a newer facility, the electricity went out for the night in the area. That meant we could not shower, could not watch TV, could not use the pool. We were not offered any discount, and when we mentioned the electricity fiasco, they offered to take a... More

I stayed at the Crooked River Lodge recently for a ski outing. We rented the two bedroom suite and let me just say that it was incredible! I work in the hospitality industry so I tend to be very critical. There wasn't a water mark to be found in the tub or sinks, the beds were comfortable and even the... More
