Our second stay at Stafford's Crooked River Lodge did not disappoint. Awarded one of my Trip Advisor "EXCELLENT SERVICE" pins. Rooms exceptionally clean. Front desk staff very helpful with arranging dinner and golf. Free Breakfast included, with food delicious and inviting. Would recommend to the most fussy travelor. Rooms nicely appointed. Amazing lobby. Wonderful view of the Indian River with... More

While in the area we stopped and stayed at the Lodge. very nicely decorated and nice rooms. Located right on the Crooked River in Alanson. The staff was friendly and the rates were reasonable. Next time in the area we will stop back.

Stayed two nights just to get away. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast both mornings was very good. Lots of variety. Our room was a Jacuzzi room with king bed. The balcony overlooked the river. The river was very high, so the walking paths were not available. The halls were very quiet and we did not hear anything... More

Stayed here twice this past winter for ski weekends. The staff was so nice and helpful. Love that you can rent snow shoes for a walk around the grounds. Breakfast was wonderful and a bit different each day. We happened to stay in the same room both times we were up there - lots of room and comfortable. Would highly... More

Crooked River Lodge is located just north of Petoskey in Alanson, MI. We stayed one night in a standard room with two queen beds and a roll-a-way. Plenty of room to accommodate the extra bed. Beds were comfy and the room was spotless! The pool was wonderful and warm enough to enjoy! Hot tub was "hot" and well kept. Breakfast... More

I was one of the five grannies who attended the knitting retreat at the Lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed the Riverview suite and were surprised at how large it was. The service consistently exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The pool was warmer than what you usually find in a hotel and very clean. The hotel also... More

Five grannies loaded our weapons (aka: knitting needles) for a weekend at THE lodge in the Riverview suite. We overflowed the pool, we lounged by the TVs, drank in the views of the Crooked River, and utilized the well appointed kitchen. We loved that the breakfast came complete with a real cook who circulated amongst the guests with enthusiasm. We... More

Stayed in a hot tub room. Mirror in room was dirty but tub itself was clean. Dusty also in several areas of room. The location is great if you want to go skiing or snowmobile. Lodge feel makes you feel like you are out west. The outdoor fire pit is great because it runs on gas. Usually is is on... More

We had a wonderful stay! The lodge is very nicely decorated with an authentic "Up North" feel and well maintained. We enjoyed the pool, which was kept at a very pleasant warm temperature, as well as the hot tub. Our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) was comfortable in a spacious standard room on the first floor even with a... More

Booked this one on a whim. Wish we stayed more than one night. Took advantage of free snowshoes to see the river trails (and swans!). Up north river views from every room. Stayed in a King bed room on the first floor. Could have fit two more friends on the pull out. Clever layout separating bedroom from living space. Room... More
