My husband and I spent the weekend at the Crooked River Lodge. First of all the location is perfect, the lodge is quietly located on US31. It is within minutes of Mackinaw City, Petoskey, Indian River and Cheboygan. It sits on The Crooked River, and the hotel has kayaks, and fishing piers. The lodge is decorated in a rustic flare,... Loved this place. The setting is so quiet and peaceful. Service was excellent. The room was immaculate and comfortable. Seriously probably the cleanest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. I just loved the up north decor. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Sitting on the balcony was so relaxing. The pool and hot tub area were very nice, and no kids... More

We had the Stafford River House and a room in the main lodge. The river house is a three bedroom, self catering house on the property with a very large verandah or deck. The room too was large and had two queen-sized beds. The whole property is located on the Crooked River and both the room and the River House... More

We loved this place! We had a room on the 3rd floor and didn't hear anyone else going down the halls or near us. The place had kayaks, paddle boat (I took my 4-year-old on that and we enjoyed it a lot), fish pond, fire pit, patios, pool (very nice with music playing in the background and a nice little... More

I lucked out when I found Stafford's Crooked River Lodge online! Wow, this place has it all! If you like the outdoors and a Northwoods type of decoration and design, you will love this lodge! It is amazing, from the beautiful wood and all of the finishing touches (moose lights by the doors, fishing creel lamps, beautiful outdoor designs on... More

We loved spending a few days at this newer lodge that attracts families. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the amenities were great. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the view from our deck was lovely--especially early in the morning when the sun came up. The breakfast was good--I liked the dried cherry bread toasted--and the coffee was... More

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. The grounds were beautiful!!! The lawn, flowers, fire pit and comfy seating at the rear of the hotel were very inviting. Unfortunately our stay was during an unusually cold and rainy week in July so we didn't get to take full advantage of... More

Stopped here to finish off our camping vacation up north and it was great! So much to do - paddle boats, kayaks, fish pond, snacks in the lobby, bonfire, and indoor swimming! Room was very clean and every single employee we met went out of their way to be nice. I can honestly say it was the most impressive hotel... More

We had to leave our hotel in Charlevoix, because it was full for the weekend. We found a room some miles up the highway at this place, and it was a GREAT weekend getaway. We were very happy with the décor, the prices, the free popcorn in the ldoge, and really, couldn't have wanted anything more. We ate at the... More

It was a nice hotel but the breakfast was very lacking. There is no restaurant on the grounds. Kayaks and paddle boats are provided at no additional charge. There is only one ice maker on the ground floor. It was clean and quiet. There is "gas" log fire pit outdoors with chairs provided for an evening camp fire. There is... More
