This place was recommended to me by a friend after I wasn’t sure where to say in Antigua. I’m glad she pointed me here. I stayed in a private room upstairs. The rooms, the courtyard and the upstairs terrace are utterly charming. The rooms are impeccably clean, tidy and comfortable (also well maintained e.g. mosquito screens etc). The bed was... More

This place is great! The most tidy hostel that we have come across through central and South America. There are cleaners on site all day making sure the place is spotless. The bed sheets are changed daily. The breakfast that is included would easily cost $8-9 in town at a cafe so it is a bargain! The staff at the... More

I had a bad experience the first night there, but it was likely a fluke, I hope. They had just cleaned the floors, to include the stairs, by hosing them down. When we walked down the steps for dinner, my foot slipped out from under me and I fell on my backside and back. Hard. The staff gave me an... More

I have stayed at Yellow House several times over the last two years. It is a fantastic place to stay, and is worth far more than the comparatively inexpensive price they charge for rooms. Everything is cleaned meticulously several times a day, besting large hotels in Canada and the US. You are also treated to a delicious breakfast every morning,... More

Casa Amarilla (Yellow House) is beyond any doubt the best place we stayed at during our 1 month trip around Guatemala, on all aspects. The breakfast kick-starts the day; it is very diversified and refined (atypical for Guatemala), and you can enjoy it on the roof terrace. Also the rooms and bathrooms are European-standard clean and comfortable, spacious and with... More

I was very surprised about one of the last comments about Yellow House giving a bad opinion about the hostel and, despite I don't use to write in Tripadvisor, I feel I have to. Was actually the kindness and helpfulness of both Sofi and Cecilia (part of the staff) what made us a good first impression. Not only did they... More

Its so good! The staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful! Its the most clean hostel I've ever been, they change sheets everyday, they clean the bathrooms several times a day. The breakfast is the best ever, really complete and really good. Very nice place to meet people, and hang around in the terrace that is very good with great... More

This is an excellent hostel. My son and I stayed here and it was such a nice retreat to come back to after a day walking around Antigua. The staff let us keep our bags secure after checking out and even let us come back and wait for our transportation. They were extremely accommodating. Our room was lovely, such a... More

If you are looking for a clean relaxing Hostal to stay at, this is the one for you. The hostal is well maintained, very clean, and staffed with very friendly people. The breakfast here is HUGE! Every morning we got 2 eggs, beans, roasted tomatoes, pancakes, bread, fresh fruit, and coffee or tea. The rooms are very clean and have... More
