This is a very convenient and friendly hotel in a lovely old house. Breakfast on the roof terrace admiring the view and in particular the nearby volcanoes. Very friendly staff, particularly the night porter who is charming and helpful.. Sadly our room was dark and the only windows opened onto the side of the courtyard which was the main passageway... Hotel Sor Juana is managed by an experienced hospitality professional with years of experience in Guatemala and the United States. The grounds are impeccably kept, rooms clean, and staff attentive to every need. Enjoying breakfast on the roof terrace with views of volcanoes, surrounded by fruit trees (many used in cooking the meals) sets Hotel Sor Juana apart. With only... More

Sor Juana is a wonderful find! A smaller quiet place with attentive and friendly staff, this was ideal for a romantic week for my wife and myself. Our room was large and comfortable, the breakfasts excellent, and a well-maintained terrace was perfect for a nightcap watching the volcanos. Highly recommend!

Went to Antigua for a family wedding. Booked with Sor Juana a year before the wedding. As with most large family groups, we had several changes, cancelations, and additions. Alejandro worked with us every time we called, and helped us make any and all changes needed. He was so wonderful to work with and extremely pleasant. During our five night... More

We had the pleasure of spending 5 nights. Julio, Alejandro, Francisco and the staff made us feel very welcomed. We started the days with coffee on the rooftop which Francisco served with a warm and welcoming smile. Julio was a fountain of information. He helped setup a tour for our group and was willing to make accommodations for us as... More

Sure, there are hotels with swimming pools and expensive restaurants in Antigua, but then you have to put up with the screaming kids playing in the pool. And, really you will be spending most of the day exploring the beautiful city and will only use the hotel for a place to relax and sleep. Sor Juana is the perfect hotel... More

I can't say enough wonderful things about Hotel Sor Juana in Antigua. Julio and the staff are wonderful -- very attentive to detail and so warm, gracious and hospitable. The property may look rather ordinary from the outside, but one you pass through the doors it is very beautiful -- a restored convent that is finely appointed with charm, class... More

The owner and staff of Hotel Sor Juana treated us as though we were family! Their hotel is quaint and cozy with very comfortable rooms. Morning breakfast on the rooftop is a stunning and delicious way to begin the day in a most beautiful city! Because we were there on the day of the Burning of the Devil, just outside... More

This B&B is only about 5 blocks from central Antigua but it is far enough to be quiet. Unassuming in the entrance, it has a neat old central courtyard with remnants of an older structure inside. The breakfasts on the roof garden are a great refuge and highlight with volcanoes in view, fabulous birds and fruit trees galore. All the... More

The front of the hotel is misleading as behind it lies the most charming of small hotels. Beautiful room, good sized bathroom. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is stunning. Beautifully presented throughout. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Close to town centre.
