What an awesome place to stay! We stayed here for a week in March. The hotel is located right next to the famous and picturesque arch - can't be beat! The staff at the hotel were very friendly, although it might have helped that we as a group spoke spanish fairly well. The grounds and building were beautiful! The courtyards... More

This hotel was chosen because of it's location, and I couldn't have been happier with the views and the service we received while there. They even have a jewelry store (slightly overpriced -but the stones came with "certificates of authenticity"). Food was great, and there's views of a volcano of you know where to look.

Beautiful old hotel with comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant breakfast was great and lunch too. The service was 5 stars! The location was great only steps to museums, center of town and activities. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back again.

This hotel is beautiful and classy, in a great location right next to the famous "Arco" of Antigua Guatemala. This hotel used to be a convent, and maintains this theme in the naming of the rooms and decor. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with typical Guatemalan furniture. The beds were firm and comfortable and all seemed well.... More

This hotel is a hidden gem. From the street (right off of the Parque Central), the entrance is like a tunnel funneling you through a few merchants' wares into a garden oasis. The open courtyard is surrounded by covered walkways and doors leading into individual rooms. It used to be a nun's convent but has been converted into a hotel... More

I dislike giving bad reviews unless they are really deserved and this one is absolutely deserved for shear and utter ineptitude. Frustratingly its a beautiful place in a great location but this does not make up for Evelyn Lopez (Manager) awful awful management decisions. This place should be a 5 but gets a 1 and here is the reason. I... More

Great place, very well placed, surrounded by ruins, 2 blocks from cathedral. Quiet, nice, tidy, traditional. We had a great experience in this hotel, the staff was excellent, polite and really kind. Recommended.

The Hotel Convento Santa Catalina is located in one of Antigua's premier locations. Located right at The Arch....one of Antigua's most popular attractions, it is a great place to stay. As another reviewer pointed out, Guatemala is a third world country on the same level as Haiti on the poverty scale. The hotel once was a Convent and the arch... More

The entry to the hotel is located directly under the Arch, which is one of the central landmarks in Antigua. The small, functional lobby opens onto a spacious courtyard, restaurant, and rooms and is far enough away from the bustle of the streets so that it is very quiet (except for the church bells at 15-minute intervals 24-7). The restaurant... More

Good over all place. Remember, Guatemala is a 3rd world Country. That said, this hotel has 24/7 hot water and good water pressure. A nice touch is that there are space heaters in the rooms. I have been traveling here for 16 years and that, for me, is a first in the villages. Lighting is better than most. It is... More
