I was on a two week tour of Central America which terminated in Antigua. I wanted a few days to myself before heading back to New York. The original hotel I was staying at wasn't that great (and I even have a slight suspicion that it was haunted). One thing to keep in mind about booking a hotel in Guatemala... More

My family of 4 stayed at Aurora during Holy Week this April. It was a lovely hotel with a welcoming, relaxed style and a beautiful courtyard garden. The location is perfect - easy walking to the central plaza and during the processions of Holy Week you can literally watch out your hotel window. Security was good and we had no... More

The rooms are large and have extra beds. The courtyard is very pretty. There's an emphasis on security, which is, as i understand, a very important feature in an Antigua hotel - there's a secure parking lost, and the gates of the hotel itself are locked 24 hours a day. The location is perfect - 2 minute walk from the... More

I have stayed at Hotel Aurora on 3 or 4 trips and I keep coming back. It is absolutely charming with its colonial architecture lush courtyard, and the staff is friendly. The location is excellent with the main plaza just 2 blocks away. Although it is possible to find lower-priced accommodation in Antigua, Hotel Aurora is worth the extra cost.... More

We stayed for eight nights in February at this hotel, which is actually more like a lovely inn. The staff was beyond helpful and gracious. We stayed in one of their largest rooms - two adults and two children - and we had lots of space. We loved the high ceilings and pretty decor. The courtyard with its lush garden... More

My husband and I fondly recall our stay at the Aurora Hotel this past February. The location was perfect, the staff was the most friendly that we met during our travels in Guatemala, the room was comfortable and very clean and the included breakfast was satisfying and tasty; we didn't feel the need to order any of the breakfast items... The hotel has a great location just 2 blocks east of the main plaza. Antigua is a walking city and the hotel is in a central location. I had a huge room with a huge bathroom. I don't think this is the norm as the person i was traveling with had a room about 1/2 the size of mine. It... More

I have been here for a week or more stay three times (2005, 2006, 2011) and I plan to go back. They have great rooms for the price and a location close to everything. The staff is helpful and I enjoy waking up to the sunshine and beautiful garden. To American standards, this is not a five star place, but... More
