I have been in two occasion in Casa Santo Domigo and is simply fabulous. Is a lost gem. Is actually build in a XVI monastery decorated with antiques. The room are wonderful all of them with a fire place (they bring wood to your room), the staff was warm and helpful. Experience the restaurant a night is so romantic. It... More

Needs to loose a couple of stars. I spent three nights in the hotel. Built around the ruins of a monastery and decorated like a museum, the hotel setting is exceptional. Landscaping and lighting are superb and the incorporation of hotel rooms into the setting was skillfully done. On those levels, the hotel deserves 5-stars, maybe 6. But that is... More

I've stayed here several times and the service and ambiance is amazing. I was shocked to find that there were actually some negative reviews. The staff has always been accommodating by offering us late check out and early check in if the room is available. They store our luggage for us when it's not check in time. They offered umbrellas... My family and I just got back from a weekend stay at the Casa Santo Domingo. We have been to Antigua, Guatemala many times but this was our first time at this hotel. The hotel is stunning. If you get there at night, you will be in awe of the way they illuminate everything with candles. The room was perfect.... More

We stayed few times this year in this hotel and it was such an experience. The people are nice and the service is perfect. It is super clean, cozy and chic. It is also so romantic.... You can have a Jacuzzi in the room. We also had a perfect diner, the chef seems to be very good. The best was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in December on our honeymoon. Having read so many favourable reviews beforehand we were pretty disappointed with our experience. We stayed in several luxury hotels in Guatemala and Belize and the service at Casa Santo Domingo was far below what we had come to expect. On our first night we were kept awake by... More

We had an amazingly great stay in this amazing hotel. Only (minor) downsides are that not all the staff speaks English (but this is everywhere in Latin America) and that the menu in the restaurant is more limited than one would expect.

This is a beautfiul place, with impeccable rooms and a fantastic restaurant. The service is somewhat impersonal, but the museum and sense of history makes up for that on the whole. We loved our room, the food at breakfast- do have an omelette made for you by the charming omelette chef-, and the ambiance. We desperately needed intenet access which... More

What an incredible hotel. The actual hotel is built on a colonial-era convent and retains some of its ancient charm and beauty. The open hallways are lined with beautiful orchids and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The food is excellent at the restaurant and the service, if a little slow, is also top-notch. My sister had some tooth pain... More
