This hotel is gorgeous. It is a like a little hidden gem in the middle of a very interesting city. I did not like walking the streets of Antigua too much, but I must say that the food is great everywhere you go. About the hotel, as soon as you walk in there is incense everywhere. It used to be... more

There is no denying that the hotel has some real beauty. The gardens are lovely. The good for us stops there. We arrived without an advanced booking. We were put into a room that was basically a basement with views of people's legs as they walked around the pool. The room was decorated in faux stone to give it a... more

Beautiful upscale place. Unfortunately the four of us got food poison after eating a $20.00 p/p breakfast! more

This hotel is amazing! You will never see anything like it in the US. It has this feeling to it, as if you have traveled back in time. The history of the town itself, mixed with staying in this hotel, you really feel like you are in a different world. Almost as if time stands still. My teenagers loved walking... more

Casa Santa Domingo has many historical attributes, making it enchanting and a perfect consideration for a celebration, romantic getaway or first time visit to Antigua. Stay in Estancia Room 265 if budget is not a consideration. The standard rooms are well appointed, including the Jr. Suites. The service was sufficient, though private airport pickup was problematic as arranged through a... more

We stayed at this hotel in April, 2009. We booked the rooms well in advance and were not told about the cancel policy. We attempted to cancel some of the rooms (not all) and they then told us about the policy. They make many claims that they emailed the policy to us but refuse to send the emails they claim... more

We stayed at Santo Domingo Hotel for five nights in a combined conference...what a great place to do business....and vacation...ditto. The town is lovely and walkable. The hotel is an oasis in an oasis. Antigua is the historical and cultural capital of Guatemala with ruins from 15th century cathedrals, a beautiful marketplace, and fair trade museum on textiles that is... more

There are many reviews here on how beautiful the hotel is and it's true. How can you not love staying in the ruins of a 17th century monastery? The design of the hotel is unique, creative and genius. However, they charge and overcharge for things that you can get in lesser hotels for free. Foremost, there is no Wi-Fi. If... more

I stayed for 5 nights in April 2008 at this beautiful hotel in Antigua. It is an incredibly lovely and special place. It is in an old, historical former convent that is lined with tasteful and culturally appropriate art, and there is a small museum on the premises. The grounds are lovely, and central to the peaceful feeling of the... more
