Spent two nights here with my daughter at the end of a week-long Guatemala journey. Was generally pleased with the hotel. The rooms were very nice and the beds extremely comfortable and well appointed. The gardens of the hotel are beautiful and the public areas in general are among the prettier I have seen. The front desk staff was very... More

I recently spent a weekend at Porta Hotel with my wife. It had been around 25 years since I last stayed at the hotel formerly known as Hotel Antigua. We were surprised to see that although many parts of the hotel remain the same, it has expanded and evolved beautifully. Quality has been preserved, restaurant is still great and the... More

This is a hotel that delights throughout every point of your stay, from the beautiful rooms, the service at the front desk, the excellent restaurant... I've brought a group of 60 some medical personnel for 5 years and each year the team members rave about the food, service and rooms. The grounds are lovely. The breakfast buffet is amazing --... Set inside this tranquil property and you may never want to leave. I have taken dozens of friends here and they continue to return. Truly one of the nicest properties in Antigua and the Sunday brunch is an experience all it's own. This place exudes old world charm all the way.

We had a great 5 day stay. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Food and coffee (my husband's favorite) were consistently above average. Room cleaned spotless everyday. The grounds are spectacular. Our only issue was that the pool and dinning room area on Sunday afternoon was VERY noisy. They had a kids program going on for the afternoon and although... More

I had stayed at this hotel various times before and it was always excellent. However this time I felt I was staying somewhere else. The service was truly terrible, they only came to tidy our room when we complained about 5 times and when they did tidy the room they literally just made the bed and that was it. Not... More

We were very lucky to be upgraded to a room next to the lap pool. From the pool you are surrounded by garden and look up over the pretty roof and see the volcano. Also helpful was that at the ATM at the front you can withdraw up to Q5,000. I didn't research extensively but others I found the limit... More

This hotel is in part responsible for having an excellent mouth taste of Guatemala. By far exceeded all my expectations. We were appointed into the VIP area and that pool and rooms are delicious. The breakfast amazing. Overall all the staff is simply great. The only downfalls are the prices of the tours which are very very expensive, the way... More

I am very sad to say I only stayed at the hotel one night, but it was a beautiful hotel. I would've loved to stay longer, and plan on returning for a longer stay at some point. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool/restaurant is amazing, and they had a fantastic breakfast buffet. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Antigua.

Firstly this is a great city and the people are lovely it should not be missed! I liked the hotel very much. Our room 401 was fine, a little small but we only used it to sleep and get ready in. No air con but we didn't need it and there is a ceiling fan. A little noise from horses... More
