After surviving a long bus trip, it was a pleasure to drive into a Spanish colonial town, and find a beautiful, walled hotel in the center of everything. The rooms were decorated in the Spanish tradition, even though the hotel is fairly new. We stayed by the lap pool, in a courtyard, very private but removed from the main hotel.... More

This hotel was everything we hoped for. The building is beautiful, the scenery is amazing and is just 3 blocks away from the central park. I would go back anytime. The swimming pool was clean and the papagallos that are taken out in the mornings are beautiful. They have a nice playground for the little ones and the food in... More

There is no variety in customer base and hotel like any mid-range resort in Arizona or New Mexico in the US. Why come to Antigua filled with great little hotels and stay in a place like this?. The staff knows what they should do in case of special requests but are too afraid to do so, big resort/tight management disease.... More

The hotel grounds are beautiful and the setting is prime. The hotel is a few blocks from the town square and sits at the base of the Volcan Agua. The rooms are gorgeous and each has a large terrace overlooking the inner courtyard. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are amazing! The variety and number of options is overwhelming. Service is... Beautiful, spotless hotel, spacious rooms and baths, nice buffet dinner and breakfast with wide array of choices, including local fare. Walking distance to local attractions. I have stayed in this hotel two different times, and prefer it to other local hotels. Very quiet atmosphere, beautiful grounds, nice pool.

If you want an American- style full service hotel in the heart of La Antigua, this is it. Considered, deservingly, one of the nicest hotels in town, the staff is bi- lingual and as helpful as any I have seen anywhere. We spent one night at their very small sister hotel ( one block away) Casa Encantada on our way... More

This was our first stay at Porta Hotel Antigua. We would normally have stayed at Casa Santa Domingo but it was booked and thank goodness or we woukd never have found this hotel. The hotel grounds are well maintained. The rooms are great, very comfortable, many with balconies or courtyards. The service was exceptional. It is great for families visiting... More

I was traveling to Antigua for work and stayed at the Porta. Some of my colleagues stayed in the main hotel and some of us stayed in the Casa Cafeto (a private residence just down the road). Both the hotel and the 'apartment' (which was more of a massive house with a courtyard - I highly recommend for families or... More
