Our experience was great: When we got there, the hostel was ruled by a hippy german family that was there with their children and all of them were lovely. We rent a room with private bath and everything was ok: the children did not disturb (they went to bed at 9:00) and the place was quite. Bad news are that... More

Cheap for Antigua and pretty close to everything of importance- but the same could be said for many hostels as Antigua is fairly small. There's a nice little kitchen with free water. The rooms are basic but clean as are the bathrooms. A nice transition place if you're looking for a quieter time. Right opposite the Terrace if you do... More

This place was the worst place we stayed in 3 months of travel. Weird guy working there, reluctant to provide toilet paper and soap. Strange vibe at the hostel. Dirty kitchen, room felt like a prison cell. Only stayed one night and found a much nicer cheaper place around the corner.

This place could have a good potential, but it is just poorly managed. The bathrooms were dirty and the whole place just needs a lot of maintenance and/or renovations. If again in Antigua we will definitely look for a better option.

We stayed in several different rooms during our stay. We didn't mind shifting around because we really wanted to stay there. We spent some time in the accommodation next to Banana Azul, which we preferred as rooms were really authentic, cosy and homey. Michel looked after us during our stage. He is incredible. He made us feel sooo welcome &... More

Got my camera stolen from a private three person room which I shared with my two mates while we slept. Heard of another group having their three laptops and camera stolen while they sleep. True piece of crap. Never again!!!!!

Simply the worst place I have ever been to. We got robbed during our sleep and all of our goods were taken. The only response we got from the manager is "it's your problem, now pay us for the nights you've stayed" disgrace, not safe, beds stink and the manager is very impolite. Go elsewhere!

Do not stay here. Here's the story. We called ahead and made a reservation for five people. They said fine. The next day, we showed up and they were cleaning a room with three beds. We asked about the other two beds and they said they thought it was for three. No, it's for five, and also there are five... More

My friend and I were looking for a cheap, central, decent hostel to stay in for a night in Antigua. Banana Azul had a nice lobby and seemed fine, so we spent last night there. The beds were AWFUL. They had no blankets and it was quite cold out. On top of that, I got some bed bug bites. When... More

Place is well located, and staff is rather friendly but they choose the cheapest equipment which breakes often. In the restrooms there are signs to save water but water leaked trough broken toilets (you couldn't flush water also), one shower had broken knob, in another there was no light. Kitchen at the base level had broken electric stove, and during... More
