Clearly a popular hostel with plenty of backpackers from many countries. Potentially this place could be super social but honestly didn't have much vibe when we where there. In the bar on the terrace there was a television constantly on; showing random stuff even though no one watched it. Why not some nice music instead? -we actually asked the bartender... More

Thanks for your review. It is a shame you felt there was not much of a vibe in the hostel while you stayed with us. We try our best to encourage guests to mix with each other and our staff create a welcome friendly vibe, but obviously we cannot force our guests to be socialable! Our hostel and bar are... More

Laid back hotel/hostel hybrid. Highly recommend this for the budget minded traveler that might not want the full hostel experience. I stayed in a room with its own bathroom ;) Staff was super helpful - even went next door with me to help me exchange currency (my Spanish is awful!). Bar is nice, drinks strong and vibe is laid back.... More

I stayed at the Terrace twice and both times I had a lot of fun! Its the perfect hostel to meet people and to have some drinks at the bar upstairs. They make really nice burgers and I suggest you to eat the pulled chicken one, delicious! Even if you do not stay at the hostel, go there for some... More

We are happy to hear you had a great time here. We have been in the process of painting the entire property. Perhaps the most impressive part of our renovation can be seen in our reception area. We hired an artist from Australia to paint a mural throughout. You should see new photos soon. That said, we are moving forward... More

The Terrace is a fun place to stay. The location is perfect, very central. The bar is cheap, you can tell by the amount of locals in there with you! The food is good too, made fresh on the BBQ as you order. The staff are friendly. It's quite noisy in the rooms. Breakfast is delicious, and included. There could... More

The Terrace hostel was a fantastic time. I stayed at the Terrace during my first stop in Antigua and returned for a second time on my way back through Antigua to Semuc Champey. For those travelers looking for a fun party hostel with a convenient location this is a great place to stay. Although it carries a few of the... More

I loved this hostel so much, I returned 3 times! Each time I came back I had a warm welcome. All staff members were friendly and helpful. There are amazing views from the terrace and the bar prices were the cheapest I found in Antigua. The bar generally closes between 10.30-11.00 which I dont think is too late for decent... More

The rooftop terrace has a spectacular view to see the volcanoes. We were fortunate enough to see the volcano erupt with lava overflowing down the side. However incredible this once-in- a-lifetime view was, the hostel was a complete let down in all other aspects. When reading the reviews I saw that it was top rated by plenty of people and... More

We are saddened that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We would like to take this opportunity to address some of the issues raised in your review. I suspect the best place to start is that we recently purchased this hostel in the first week of March of 2013, so we can no speak to previous reviews and... More

I went here because of positive reviews from friends but I think they either went on a lucky day or they lower expectations. I found most of the staff oddly detached from a sense of customer service or responsibility to the guests. They were nice people, but they had seemed seriously untrained and pretty bored with their work most of... More

We purchased this hostel in March of 2013. As such, we are not in a position to address each issue raised as these matters may or may have not existed prior to a change in ownership. But we can say that considerable efforts have been made to improve the Terrace in all aspects. We have invested considerable time and funds... More

We found this place because it was one of the cheaper places in Antigua,, but I guess there is a reason. We don't party to hard and it seems if you wanted to go to bed and get some sleep before midnight good luck. The rooms were small, the shared toilets were clean to ok standards, the drinks were well... More

I stayed in a private room for two nights when I first got to Antigua. Everyone was very friendly, the room was a decent size, but what really blew me away was the view from the rooftop bar upstairs! It overlooks two volcanoes! The place had a really good vibe, and many people from around town seemed to hang out... More
