I researched a lot of hotels in Antigua before choosing this one for our anniversary getaway and I am so happy with our choice. I loved that I could email Oscar (the general manager) before our trip and get things planned. He had great suggestions including a couples massage in our room. This hotel is a great retreat for people... More

A perfect long weekend romantic get-away. The boutique hotel was simply beautiful - built around ruins and charming gardens, with warm hospitality and excellent service. Food was fresh and delicious. Oscar was wonderful in planning our daily trips and making arrangements. His suggestions for local fare couldn't have been better. The staff was very accommodating and surprised us on Valentine's... There was a great deal of thought and attention to detail in designing and building this charming hotel built inside an old convent. Ricardo was very helpful in arranging our excursions arround the city , to a coffee plantation and up a volcano as well as helping us get around the city at night. The staff was congenial and helpful... More

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Cirilo for about 10 days in late January. The hotel is beautifully designed around ruins, with a lovely garden. Food in the dining room was excellent. The staff were friendly and competent without being obtrusive. I found the evenings cool in Guatemala and asked for a couple of extra blankets, which was no... More

This hotel was a lovely sanctuary. It was just lovely walking around the beautiful garden and 17th church ruins it is built around. My room probably the smallest one in this boutique hotel was still spacious and charming with its fireplace and huge bed; I loved how there were large windows which you could open up so you felt very... The Hotel Cirilo for me and my partner, has been a true highlight of our trip to Guatemala in January 2015. We visited Lake Atilian and Antigua before arriving for a long weekend to celebrate my cousin's wedding in Antigua. We visited some beautiful places by the lake, but when we were at the Hotel Cirilo we felt truly at... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Cirilo for 6 nights during two different stays and we had a wonderful experience. Set in the ruins of an old church, this beautiful boutique hotel with 7 guest rooms offers a unique experience of history, tranquility, elegance, and modern comfort.  The rooms are spacious (high wood ceilings); the bed is firm and... I have never stayed in a more beautiful hotel, personally. It's a small site, with beautiful rooms. Upon walking in, late at night, I could already tell that every aspect was beautiful and unique. Before the earthquakes, it was a church, and has the beautiful remnants of such. We only ate breakfast there, but it was delicious, especially the banana... More

We stayed at Cirilo for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon. We arrived quite late, and were told to relax and do all the check in paperwork in the morning. This was music to our ears after about 22 hours travelling. In our room, there were rose petals on the bed and 'towel origami' of two swans kissing -... More
