Agree with previous reviewers especially melleaux-vagabundo. We stayed with our son and his girlfriend and all of us felt so lucky to have found this intimate hotel. Guatemala can be a challenging (albiet exciting and beautiful) place to travel for we spoilt westerners so this hotel provided respite whilst feeling very Guatemalan. ie: It was atmospheric, comfortable, functional and our... First, I must say that the property is beautiful and the management really helpful. We enjoyed our stay. I guess the location was a bit more of an issue for us than for others just because it was a drag to have to keep taking taxis for dinner every night, but it was no big deal. I just felt that... My husband and I spent a few days at this wonderful hotel. We were very impressed by its beauty, quietness and great service. Our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty with the best fresh fruit plate we have ever had. It is about a 10 minute walk away from the centre which suited us fine.... More

So here is the story. The owner of this seven room gem lives next door. He had the creativity to take the ruins of an 18th century chapel and literally build the hotel into its footprint (yes, three of the seven rooms have identifiable remnants of the structure visible in each respective room). Location: The hotel is about a 10-13... More

Just a little out from the center of Antigua, this small hotel is built new, surrounded by the ruins of church. The glass surround lounge and small pool make an almost meditative setting. The service was excellent and the sleep was very quiet. Being a little away from the city center (an easy 10 minute walk, they recommended taking a... More

Hotel Cirilo is a beautiful tranquil retreat built around the restored ruins of a 18th century church. There are seven rooms and we were the only guests. We received personalized attention, including a private 6 hour walking tour of the city with Oscar, the nephew of the owner. The hotel's location makes it ideal for exploring Antigua, but provides a... More

It is a small very relaxing hotel, with colonial ruins and decorated with colonial Spanish style. The room was very comfortable with a chimney and a modern tv with cable. In each corner there is something to admire, antiques, sculptures, modernity. The service and the staff were excellent, I would totally recomend this hotel to couples, businessmen, or individuals with... More

We arrived late to the hotel during a down pour in May. It was our last night in Guatemala and that day my wife had her wallet stolen traveling the country side. Needless to say we were stressed out, but the ownership went out of their way to help us. He helped us with our bags and had an umbrella... More

This place is a little out of the way, which can be good or bad depending on your objectives in Antigua. The rooms had fireplaces and they are very charming. You can order room service with a bottle (or two) of wine for a reasonable price. The gardened grounds are in a ruined church, which is very picturesque. It is... More
