Stayed at basecamp before and after our Acatenango trip. Beds were nice and the atmosphere was very relaxed, which was just what we needed. Great views from the terrace, and a nice Elton John playlist on the house speakers. Will definitely return.

Friendly staff, great hangout spaces and more chilled out than some of the other party hostels. I went on a tour run by OX and it was cool to stay in the adventure hostel with the other people participating.

I booked out Base Camp for a group of volunteers and we couldn't have been happier! Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable hostel. Excellent location, just a few blocks walking to everywhere. Victor, the owner, is amazing, he knows what he's doing and is passionate about the tours he is offering and making sure everyone is happy... More

Delightful courtyard with gratis ping-pong, netflix and pleasant eating area. The roof terrace is perfect for pre drinks and relaxed morning sunrises. You may also be lucky enough to have some cookies cooked fresh for you by the delightful staff.

We stayed twice at OX BaseCamp – each time for 3-4 days. The first time was at the beginning of our vacation. The staff is simply great. They really know Antigua (one guy was even local) and can tell you the best places to go. Best bakery for normal stuff, best bakery for banana-bread, best restaurant (rainbow café), best Tacos... This is a good hostal if your just looking to chill. Not too many people partying as alot of them are doing the excursions so it allows for a quieter night. Saying that sometimes the staff blast music early in the morning for god knows why or at night. I think most that come here are happy its not a... More

When traveling around Central America, it’s easy to get used to sub-par facilities, non-existent customer service, and pretty much everything else at a bare minimum. So when I checked into Base Camp I was expecting nothing more than adequacy. However, I could not have been more impressed and happy with my stay at Base Camp. After being greeted (with a... More

If you want a great laid-back hostel in Antigua, you should probably stay here. The staff members were great and always there if I had any questions. The beds were ridiculously comfy with memory foam mattresses and small dorm rooms of only 4 beds are awesome because you're not constantly being woken up by others coming and going. There are big... Great little hostel! If you travel like my friend and I do, you end up having a million mini requests for the hostel staff (ex. can we pay via paypall, can you book this for us, can you call them, can you stand on your head for 5 minutes). The staff was really what made the difference for us. Not... More
