My husband and I were planning a weekend get-away for Sweetest Day this year. We figured with all of the gorgeous pictures of the resort, it would be a great time. We opted for a Tower Room because we wanted it to be very special. We had read about all the millions spent on renovations etc. Needless to say we... more

Months ago we requested a non-smoking room. Well, we didn't get one. We had a room very close to a bar, with that dreadful 'old popcorn' smell, in a smoking wing. At these prices, not impressed. We had to endure two nights of the odor, as well as the sound, more like a roar, really, of the mechanical units. Couldn't... more

I stayed at the Shores in a really nice condo for $164.00. I did not want to leave. I use to work there at the resort in security so I thought, since I was going there for vacation to visit my mom, I thought about staying there for one night. I really enjoyed the jacuzzi. The only thing that I... more

My husband and I were planning a trip to Traverse City for our 10th anniversary. We had reservations and the Holiday Inn Express in Acme when my husbands boss suprised us with a package reservation at Grand Traverse. He bought us the couples package called "Do not Disturb". The hotel was booked so we actually ended up in a condo... more

After several weeks of research, my husband and I decided to stay at the Grand Traverse Resort for a celebratory birthday weekend. We stayed in the hotel (not the Tower) for three nights. I think it may be important to note that the resort is not actually in Traverse City but about four miles north, and it is not directly... more

We traveled to the area for a job interview and were put up for two nights at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. Our hosts called it the most elegant place in the city, so we had high expectations. The lobby was nice: big fireplace, attractive seating, and a mall-like atmosphere of small upscale shops. Yes, it was nice, but... more

My husband and I had heard so much about the Spa and Golf weekend, that we thought for our anniversary we would splurge and go for a 2 night stay! At $900 for the weekend, we expected better. When we first arrived we went to the room in what was billed as the "newly rennovated" tower rooms, only to return... more

My husband and I stayed at the resort for one night when visiting with friends. They are from the area and were able to get a corporate discount for our room. If we return to the area in the future, we will not stay here. We stayed in the 6-story building, not the tower - as others have written, the... more

Stayed here for a weekend in July for the horse show. It looked like the Tower of Terror from Disney World rising high and dark out of the trees. It is great for golf and tennis, lots of courts. The pools are great for kids, very crowded with them all the time. It is not just for hotel guests but... more

We just returned from a 3-night stay at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. It was a good choice for us with our two children ages three & five. We loved the service. We used the concierge service to make restaurant reservations at Pearl’s. We used the in room baby-sitter service while we went to dinner at Aerie. Our sitter... more
