We chose the Holiday Inn Express for a single night's stay in March and had advance reservations. When we arrived in the area, it seemed like other hotels were advertising "giveaway" prices of $25 and up. Wow! But, Holiday Inn Express was higher, and we got what we paid for...a very nice hotel, welcoming staff, comfortable room (upgraded to a... more

Came up to Traverse City on a Friday without reservations. Altho the HI Express was not our first choice, we will return again. All the major hotels on the bays were full by the time we arrived in town at 8PM. After 4 rejections and a lot more "NO Vacancy" signs we decided to try the Holiday Inn Express. For... more

Though I only stayed one night, I really liked the Holiday Inn. The staff were very friendly. I had emailed the hotel requesting early check in and though they couldn't guarantee it I was assured if possible they would. And when I arrived at noon I was given a room right away. The room (315) over looked the bay and... more

We stayed here 2 nights while visiting relatives near Torch Lake. Acme is really almost in Traverse City, but without all the traffic and noise. This hotel is in a quiet location off the main road, but still with views of the Bay, be sure to ask for a room with a view. Our large room with a king bed... more

I arrived around 11pm and the hotel had computer issues which caused problems with checking me in. The guy at the desk quickly found a way to get me into a room and deal with the computer issues later. He also upgraded me from a 2 queen room to a 1 King room with a hot tub. I found my... more

Check in was friendly, informative, and quick. It was surprisingly value priced! Parking area was well lit. Beds were wonderful ~ pillows were even better. (four per bed ~both firm and soft) I typically don't sleep well in hotels ~ not the case here. The room was VERY clean and fresh smelling ~ and very relaxing ~ sleep came easy.... more

We stayed Feb 22-24, 2008. The staff at this hotel was Super friendly. Because we are Platmium members with Holiday Inn we were offered a room upgrade. It was a third floor room over looking the Grand Traverse Bay, Very Beautiful!! We have stayed at this HI Express several times before, and I will admit it is starting to show... more

The hotel was absolutely deserted when we stayed here - in fact, we may have been the only guests. That said it was cheap, clean, comfortable and well located. more

I wrote a review on this previously but for some reason it was not posted. Anyway, this hotel was filthy. The lobby, hallways, elevators and rooms looked like they had not been vacuumed thoroughly since the hotel opened. I think housekeeping did a perfunctory job just to get it over with. Also in the bathroom there were hairs in the sink... more

It was a great stay, but from being from out of town and not knowing the area the hotel was very hard to find. The directions from map quest didn't help at all. The hotel is hidden behind another hotel and there is no sign out by the road. Other then that it was a great place to stay. The... more
