My boyfriend and I recently visited Nantucket for the first time, and both really enjoyed staying at the Hawthorn House. Our room was clean with nice bedding, and had a good-sized balcony - perfect for morning coffee. Our room had the detached bathroom, which was no pain at all. I brought a robe, but they also provide them. The owners... More

I recently stayed at Hawthorn House with a friend. First and foremost, the location is really fantastic, we loved being so close to everything that downtown Nantucket has to offer. We knew that there would be only vouchers for breakfast and we enjoyed using them at two of the three establishments for which they were valid. Our room was comfortable... More

We wish to thank this reviewer for their kinds words and for also giving us an opportunity to reiterate what we have said in many previous responses to earlier reviewers concerns. Let me begin with Hawthorn House was built in 1849. Rooms built in the 19th century on Nantucket are considerably smaller than those built today. We include the square... More

I'm on my way back from a work weekend in Nantucket with 2 colleagues . We stayed at the Inn and the place was wonderful ; clean , comfy , relaxing , charming , and with a lovely sitting area in back . The proprietors went above and beyond accommodating us .there is a 3 night minimum stay , but... More

We just stayed 3 nights and highly recommend. The Cubbyhole at The Hawthorn House is more of a studio apartment and while we didn't take advantage of the stove, fridge or rest of the kitchen, it was great to have. There's an AC window unit which works well and was necessary during this trip. There's a bike rack to lock... More

Thank You for your indepth review of Hawthorn House. It makes us all warm and fuzzy when our guests share their unsolicited positive experiences of Nantucket and Hawthorn House with fellow travelers. To your point about the chairs. Diane tried to put a love seat where you suggested but she couldn't find one small enough to allow the doors to clear... More

Just returned from my second stay at Hawthorn House – and fell even more in love with it's history and quirkiness!! Mitch and Diane are wonderful hosts, offering helpful tips and local knowledge. Their home is filled with loads of curious and unique art, each piece with its own story, and more to discover behind every nook. I've stayed in... More

From the service to the location, everything about my stay at HH was wonderful! Mitch and Dianne have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, at their quintessential ACK inn. Everyone on the HH team is kind and helpful; and the inn itself is filled with local history and art (including some pieces by the owners!).

Thank you for your kind review and pointing out the artwork in the house. It is all local original art we have been collecting and producing these past thirty years. Oil paintings by Jeannette Carl, Hand hooked rugs by Jerry Carl, Stained glass lamps by Mitchell Carl, needlepoint pillows stiched by Diane Carl. Copper Whales by Sean Carl and the... More

This was just as advertised, and overall my wife and I enjoyed our time at Hawthorn House. For our first time to the Island this was a great location. The room was island small as expected, but the back porch on the first floor was a wonderful surprise. We sat out there after our walks and tours an enjoyed the... More

I've stayed at HH a few times in the past and will be visiting them a few times this year as well. Diane & Mitch are super nice and my room has always been very clean and comfortable. I like staying upstairs because there's a nice little couch area to lounge in, and room 5 is my favorite because the... More

Staying at this husband and wife-owned seaside inn inevitably feels like you're being welcomed into a warm family home. It is conveniently located within walking distance from the ferry and downtown Nantucket, among countless shops, bakeries, and the island's best restaurants. It is clean, well-kept, and decorated with eclectic and nautical decor that will be sure you draw you in... More

5 day stay in a perfect location. Conscientious, unobtrusive innkeepers. Beautiful, comfortable, well appointed room, and a nice common sitting area. Beach towels available. We wished there was an option to keep towels rather than get daily new ones. Otherwise, a first rate place.
