I recently stayed with my new bride at The Barnacle Inn. The place is great! We both enjoyed every minute of staying there. We loved the island of Nantucket and were planning on returning to The Barnacle again next summer. Morning continental breakfast was exceptional, and was served to us on the front terrace from a lovely young lady with... more

The Barnacle Inn is lovely - the location is perfect, you feel like you are in old Nantucket with the lovely garden, church next door and just the peacefulness. The innkeepers are very nice and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was just lovely and great rates. My only one complant and only because I have a bad... more

It is hard to single out one aspect to highlight, as the Barnacle Inn works well due to the sum of its many good parts. I guess it starts at the top, so Suzy and Phil, the husband/wife, owner/inn keepers, get the main credit. Comfortable, discreet attention to detail, care for their guests and friendliness was our consistent experience over... more

We recently had a girls midweek getaway at the Barnicle Inn. Even though the weather didn't always cooperate, everyone at the Inn was extremely hospitable. They gave us extra beach towels to dry ourselves off after getting caught in a downpour. Suzie made a special trip to the florist to pick up flowers that were sent by one of our... more

Finding a nice, affordable place to stay on Nantucket at the height of the summer season can be challenging. Alright, let's be honest: It's nearly impossible. But if you're looking for a happy medium between the island's youth hostel and a $500/night B&B, your best bet just may be the Barnacle Inn. From the moment we booked a room over... more

We booked the entire inn for guests at our daughter's wedding last summer. Most guests had never visited Nantucket before. People were overwhelmingly positive in their comments to us.....Many of our guests were from the Midwestern U.S. and were a bit wary of Nantucket, thinking it might be expensive and/or elitist. They found the Barnacle Inn to be comfortable, a... more

Although reasonably priced compared to other inns on the island, we would not look forward to staying there again. Sue, the innkeeper, was friendly at first, but made rude comments to us throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good, but our rooms were never cleaned. (Although she asked us to give the maids a tip leaving us feeling extremely... more

We stayed here for two nights in July and loved it. The establishment was so clearly well-run and everything was great. We had a king-size room that was huge, and certainly didn't miss the TV. I read another review that mentioned thin walls and so on, but our room had no such problem. Great location too - just like 100... more

On an island of over-consumption, over-building and overly priced EVERYTHING The Barnacle Inn is the exact opposite. It's a quiet family owned 40+ year-old establishment that truly captures all there is to love about Nantucket (minus the Land Rovers). The location could not be more perfect (right off the top of Main Street), and the staff feels more like friends... more

The Barnacle Inn is a lovely family run place on Fair Street in Nantucket. (The church across the street is St. Paul's, not St. Mary's. Be sure to stop into St. Paul's to see the Tiffany windows!) The owners, Phil and Susie, are great hosts - very warm and friendly people. This inn is "old Nantucket" at its most charming,... more
