We stayed at the Pineapple Inn, according to a very popular well respected guide book, it was the Premier place to stay in Nantucket; however, this was 100 percent wrong. I will in plain terms tell you the place was dank and creepy. The hallways were not lit, just big red Exit signs lit in red at night, among the... more

We were disappointed with the Inn. We had toured it 4 years previously and it was clean and fresh at that time, but when we stayed there this time it was worn, not particularly clean and seemed to be in some disrepair. The Innkeeper was not present at all during our three day stay to welcome us or to generally... more

This B&B is currently owned by "The Summer House" which is on the other side of the island. From the information i gathered while I was researching B&B's on Nantucket was that this was a very nice B&B with attentative staff & good food, but since being bought out - the service level had gone down but that the rooms... more

We just returned from 4 wonderful days in Nantucket...When I booked the 3 nights, the first several places I called were totally booked due to the Waikovia conference. I was able to get a reservation for under $300/night at the Pineapple Inn on Hussey St(near everything!) which included a lovely continental breakfast each morning/ and free shuttle service /use of... more

This inn looked lovely in the pictures and I was encouraged by the reviews, but was sorely disappointed. When we arrived there was no one there, despite being contacted about our arrival time to ensure they would be there. After waiting half an hour, we finally found someone who let us into our room. While our room was clean, a... more

We've stayed at the Pineapple Inn annually for 7 yrs in a row, only occasionally venturing to other establishments for subsequent last minute visits to the island. Ownership changed from Bob and Caroline Taylor in 2005 to The Summer House, the venerable Siasconset hotel with several other properties in town. The Taylor's had renovated the B&B, installing marble baths, tastefully... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Pineapple Inn in Sept. 2005. As covered by others, the location is superb and the Inn is nicely done up and in good condition. However, an ownership change which took place in the summer of 2004 has had some impact. Whereas the prior owners had been lauded for their charm and warmth the new... more

We stayed four nights at the Pineapple in June 2004. Although our room was small and on the third floor, it was spotless and comfortable. The host & hostess were gracious and attentive making dining reservations and giving suggestions on how to spend the day. And every morning the three course breakfast was fabulous. We'd highly recommend the Pineapple Inn. more

We spent 4 days at the Pineapple Inn, Sept 2003. The room was lovely...the host was very gracious. Breakfast was out on the patio, relaxed, food was excellent. Very much like staying with old friends. Location was within walking distance of every thing we wanted to see and do within the historic area. We rented bikes and pedaled all over... more
