We are repeat customers of the Carlisle House Inn and highly recommend to others. We always visit in the summer, but recently have been coming off season. We recently visited for a long weekend in November. The island takes on a whole different persona. It's chilly, so fireplaces, 24x7 coffee/hot chocolate/tea, and robes are just some of the reasons to... More

I've been going to the Carlisle House Inn for over 15 years since the owner, Heather, is kind, thoughtful, and attentive. She provides impeccable service. The inn itself is charming, with clean rooms of varying size. I highly recommend the Carlisle House Inn to anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing stay in Nantucket, all easy walking distance to the town... More

We recently stayed at the Carlisle House for a long Labor Day weekend. While the inn is okay it is lacking in hospitality. The innkeeper seems only vaguely interested in interacting with the guests and appears to do only the bare minimum to stay competitive in the Nantucket market. For example, the continental breakfast served was sparse and appeared to... More

As owner and resident innkeeper, I am very disappointed to see this review and sorry that this guest had a less than ideal experience. My staff and I work extremely hard to provide our guests a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. With up to 30 guests when the inn is full, it is not always possible to catch every guest... More

When we go to Nantucket, we always stay at The Carlisle House Inn. The accommodations are great and the staff fantastic and helpful. The Carlisle House Inn is within short walking distance of all of the Nantucket downtown attractions, and also close to the Jetties Beach. The location is also very quaint and quiet.

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay in Nantucket over Labor Day weekend for our 2nd wedding anniversary. After searching almost every property on the island, we went with the Carlisle House. First, its Nantucket, everything is expensive, but the Carlisle House was very affordable. Second, most B&Bs required a 3 night minimum during peak season,... More

Thank you for your kind words. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at The Carlisle House Inn. Indeed, this is an historic whaling captain's house built in 1765 with many original features such as wide pine floors, working fireplaces in many guest rooms, high ceilings and other interesting architectural elements. All of our queen and king rooms and... More

Sankaty room. Sink outside of the very tiny bathroom-undesirable. Mattress-poor. Pillows-poor. Breakfast- for the nightly fee there should absolutely be a full breakfast not continental; breakfast elsewhere can run you $60 for 2 if you go to a decent place. If you want a great B&B experience head to Kehoe House in Savannah, GA.

We are sorry that this guest was disappointed. Despite our checking in with her during her stay to ask if everything was to her liking, her feelings were not shared with us, which is unfortunate. Like almost all other B&Bs on Nantucket, we are licensed to serve a continental breakfast, not a full breakfast. We serve an ample -and according... More

Adorable historic house on Nantucket - very clean, comfy, and walking distance to everything! The inkeeper bakes fresh goodies in the morning as part of the included breakfast. We loved spending time on the patio and the backyard. Wonderful and a great price for the island! Thank you :)

This was my third weekend stay at the Carlisle House. It is on a quiet side street in a very convenient location. (Short walk to all restaurants, ferries, shopping, bus system and even a couple beaches). It is reasonably priced compared to other places in the summer. When I stayed it was completely booked and I only saw 4 other... More

The Carlisle Inn was a great location for our trip to Nantucket. The owner was very helpful with ideas for things to do on our stay and even drove us to the ferry when we left. We had 4 guests and this was one of the few B&Bs that could accommodate us and we are glad they did.
