We've stayed at the Carlisle House multiple times and will continue to do so. The service is great, the room selection is great, and it's a very short walk from town(shops and restaurants) Heather(innkeeper/owner) is always around and is always asking how the stay was. She and staff always recognize us as returning customers which is great. She is also... More

Warm and hospitable! The lovely 18th century whaling captain's house has all the charm I Iove about old houses! There are original broad beamed floors, working fireplaces, high ceilings and original detail. And it had all the things I love about B&Bs: free wi-fi, walking distance to restaurants and shops, continental breakfast and the inn keeper gave great advice for... More

Wonderful B & B, beautiful bedroom with lovely sitting room. Authentic period house once owned by a whaling captain. Within walking distance of downtown shops that had wonderful sales in the off season! Sunny breakfast room with great coffee. Innkeeper offered wonderful suggestions for walking tour and local attractions. Missed seeing any of the ghosts but maybe on the next... More

Stayed for 3 nights in March...selected this B&B for its working fireplaces...and they made our trip. Actually a fun time to see Nantucket since there were few other visitors on the island. Stayed in the Brant Point room and enjoyed some wine in front of the fire. Only downside was the bathroom...small and in need of an update.

We're so pleased you enjoyed your winter getaway and the working fireplace! We are one of the few inns with real working fireplaces, and we're always open through the winter. We are working on renovating our guest bathrooms; the Brant Point bathroom is next on the list for later this year. More

Warm, wonderful stay in the Carlisle House Inn. The third floor Miacomet room made up with two twin beds wasn't "large" but was perfectly fine for my daughter and myself. It is a necessity to have a private bathroom, this one had charming dog motif tiles in the shower. The breakfast was good; fresh breads and fruit and thankfully real... More

After walking on the beach dotted with snow, it was delightful to return to the warm and cozy inn. Beautifully appointed bedroom, complete with fireplace. Heather, owner and innkeeper, made me feel welcomed like a member of her extended family of guests. I highly recommend the Carlisle House Inn.

I stayed at this lovely inn for two weeks during a recent business trip. Nantucket is expensive but this gem of a B&B is very reasonably priced considering its proximity to town, the bus line and Jetties Beach. For most of my stay I was in the Tuckernuck room on the third floor of this old whale captains home. The... More

We chose the Carlisle House because it was near the ferry and would allow a one night stay in September. The historic house needs modernization. For example, there were few channels on the older TV. The continental breakfast was adequate. It could have been a more charming experience.

So this is my second time staying with Heather and the great staff at the Carlisle house Inn. The Carlisle Inn has the most beautiful classical Nantucket Inn with a combination of old world living and new world conveniences. I stayed last in the spring and this visit was in September. Check in was very accommodating as I had a... More

My husband and I just spent two nights at The Carlisle House Inn while spending a fall weekend on Nantucket. The location is perfect…you can walk/bike from Steamship fast ferry, explore the town, shops and restaurants and access the bike paths easily from the Inn. The innkeeper, Heather, was extremely welcoming and helpful. The fall is a magnificent time to... More
