I stayed for two nights whilst in Nuuk. The Seaman’s Home is by far the cheaper of the two big hotels in Nuuk (although even cheap in Greenland is fairly expensive compared to most other places!) The hotel is located in a quiet spot near to the harbour (ideal for the ferry), with good views over the harbour, about 10-15... More

Excellent value for money. The location is down towards the harbour, so convenient if arriving on the Arctic Umiaq; it’s 15 minutes’ walk into the centre of Nuuk. The hotel is bright and airy, and well looked-after. My room was modern and pleasant, with a comfortable bed and washbasin. Bathrooms are shared but are plentiful, and I never had to... More

We really enjoyed our two night here, not because of its luxury but location and other reasons. Our check in was ok . i cant say super welcoming but quick and efficient. We loved the rooms very large, good shower, tv has many channels though most in Danish but some tv shows /films are in English with Danish subtitles. it... More

The few hotels in Nuuk are overpriced, and the Seaman's Home seems to be the best compromise. Rooms are spartan but impeccably clean and spacious. Despite its name, the hotel is heavily used by business people and tourists. The piano in the lounge seems to attract lots of hidden talent, and you will occasionally be treated to an impromptu concert.... More

This place was fair to good. One of the front desk staff was nice and the other constantly grumpy each day -sometimes only offering her silence. The food is less than fair and often greasy (although you could eat elsewhere but it is far to walk to town…. if not a rush, it is a good location/hikes/etc). WiFi is extra... More

Nuuk doesn't have many hotels. Two in fact, which are reviewed in Tripadvisor. Having tried both, we prefer the Seamen hotel, not because its a better hotel (which its not), but because its better on a value for money metric. It is a no frills experience, with comfortable enough rooms, functional enough bathrooms, good enough breakfast (with many locals as... More

Hotels are expensive in Greenland; this one also , maybe a bit less than others. Well located, in the Harbour, 15 minutes walk from downtown Nuuk; very clean, friendly staff, cafeteria in the hotel, breakfast is included (cereals, bread, eggs) . Basic accomodations but you will hopefully spend more time outside than in while visiting Greenland; fantastic view from rooms.... More

This is a clean and comfortable option near the harbour, about 10 minutes in a taxi from the Airport. Rooms are basic, warm and light. They have tv if you should be bored but how could you be in Greenland? Reception staff are helpful and friendly if a little shy. The canteen provides an excellent, good value breakfast and up... The Seaman's Home is not a hotel, it's an upscale hostel. If you are looking for an authentic hotel for your stay in Greenland, check out Hans Egede in downtown Nuuk. There are a few good points about Seaman's Home; it's in a quiet area, not too far of a walk from downtown, and if you are lucky enough to... More
