I had recently travelled to christmas island on a business trip and unfortunately had to stay at this hotel. This place is downright filthy! The bedrooms smell, the furniture is falling apart and when i asked housekeeping ( although i use this term lightly) for an extra towel was told that they only allow 1 towel per bedroom! However she... More

I stayed at the Resort for a work trip in February 2013 for 2 nights. The previously run down resort and casino complex is in the process of being upgraded to its former glory... so they tell me. Accommodation options are often limited on an island that doesn't (by international standards) really cater for tourists. The island is culturally diverse... More

Mold Mold Mold !!! Everything is broken, leaking, fixed with tape, worn, ripped, dated, peeling... And moldy! Staff are non English speaking, all from Korea. Breakfast is a rip off, does not include toast!? Dinner, although expensive, is lovely. Pool is generally clean. Dead crabs are left to rot and smell the whole resort. Place needs to be demolished and... More

What ever you do, try your best to stay somewhere else than the Christmas Island Resort. It is no resort, the rooms are filthy and smells of mould, and dead insects, there are lots of live insects inside the rooms, the staff are un-helpful and will not help you out under any circumstances (I asked to borrow a bowl and... The resort (if that's what you can call it) is run-down. Staff with limited English on the front desk, unable to charge meals to your room, bull ants in the iron, no on site manager. Meals average and the price of $285.00 per night is definitely far too much.

The good: - The restaurant does good breakfast and dinners The bad: - 6kms from The Settlement so a hire car is mandatory - Pool was only open one day of the seven we visited - Staff with very limited English The downright ugly: - Rooms were dirty - Sheets did not cover the mattress - Blanket was stained and... I stayed here for a business trip in early September 2011. As previous posters have said, it is the old Casino in the process of being slowly slowly upgraded. Staff tried hard but weren't always easy to find. Rooms (Block 7) were slightly tatty and slightly dirty. There was a dampness over everything which could easily have just been sea... More

The Resort was built for a 5 star trade that collapsed. Seems the hotel was closed for a lengthy period and has recently been reopened as a casino-less resort. Sure the place has some flaws, but there is a team of wrokers trying to bring it back to it's previous standard. Meanwhile the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed.... More
