This place is a gem! It's attractive, comfortable and conveniently located just outside downtown Amherst. Susan is a wonderful hostess - warm, friendly and full of advice about things to see and do in the area. She provides a great breakfast and makes you feel right at home. more

If you’re coming to Amherst or Northampton, listen to us, we spent three nights at Horace Kellogg Homestead, and wished we booked more. Why spent time at a hotel, when you have such a great option, in big nice quit comfortable house like Horace Kellogg, within walking distance to the center of Amherst, and very close to all the attractions... more

I stayed overnight at the Horace Kellogg recently, and thought it was a great find. The innkeepers were friendly and welcoming without being oppressive, and the accommodations were spotless. The "Judge's Room" was tastefully furnished in what I'd call a plain Victorian style (that is, tame prints and rich colors, but thankfully no fussy / cutesy paraphernalia like teddy bears... more
