I stayed for five nights during the winter holidays. The Amherst Inn was perfect! It's a beautiful old building, across the street from the Emily Dickinson Museum, and within easy walking distance from downtown restaurants and other attractions. The room was lovely, cozy, and quiet, and Ann King was very welcoming.

My girlfriend and I go out to Amherst each year for our anniversary and stayed at Amherst Inn for second year and absolutely love it! The building is a really cool old Victorian building with themed rooms and groovy furniture. The couple that runs the place are hilarious and very attentive but also give plenty of privacy to guests. I stayed for one evening in this wonderful inn. The whole building is gorgeous: a beautiful Victorian mansion. It has the perfect location, right across the street from Emily Dickinson's house, and a couple blocks to downtown. Friendly Ann took care of everything perfectly. The room was historic, beautiful, and quiet. Everything was spotless, and the breakfast was sumptuous, in... More

We have stayed at the Amherst Inn 6 times , so we are obviously biased. It remains the best bed and breakfast in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. Since this area is widely known as the "Five College Area", the Inn is ideally suited to parents and their prospective students for College Scouting trips. Every time we go to the... More

Although Inn Keeper Ann had just broken her arm, she was cheerful and helpful and had everything in fine order. The Victorian rooms, parlor, and breakfast area are beautiful and the breakfast very tasty. There is always a lively conversation at breakfast - such interesting guests. It was my second visit and I will continue to book there whenever I... More

I wooed my parents from Northampton by booking them a room at the beautiful Amherst Inn when they came to visit me in December. They could not stop raving about their weekend stay. The inn has a prime location, right across the street from the Emily Dickinson Museum and Homestead, a short walk to town center and also next door... More

This breathtaking bed-and-breakfast is as perfect as perfect can be. Nestled at the top of one of several hills in storybook-lovely Amherst, Mass., this richly appointed inn just happens to be directly across the leafy lane from Emily Dickinson's lifelong home. I of course wanted to open the windows a crack, in hopes of breathing in poetic autumnal airs. The... More

I've stayed at this inn at various times while in Amherst MA for a conference at the university. It's a very close walk (less than 5 minutes) to the town center where there are always great places to eat, coffee houses (the Black Sheep is excellent), hangouts etc. It's also across from the Emily Dickinson House, of historical and literary... Can't say enough about the kindness of the folks who run this place. They're very proud of this beautiful old house (as they are of its sister B&B just down the street, the Allen House Inn), and rightfully so. If you have any downtime during your stay, they'll be happy to tell you about the fascinating story of the house... More

The Amherst Inn is a lovely, warm place to stay and looks out on the Emily Dickinson House. The breakfast was delicious, our hostesses hospitable, and I met a couple who loved opera as much as I do. The inn is beautiful in every detail.
