This adorable B&B is a great room for a few friends to get together for a weekend. It can sleep up to four people and has a little private living room, one double bed, one twin bed in a separate room and a pull out couch. Every amenity has been thought of from robes and slippers to wonderful snacks available... More

We stayed at Purple Gables on October 20th and found Lynda to be a truly gracious and friendly hostess greeting us warmly upon our arrival and offering all sorts of local information so we could get the most out of our stay. The suite was bigger than I had imagined and there were plenty of special "added extras" for us... More

The Purple Gables is tucked among the trees and within an easy walk of 'downtown' Amherst. We loved our three nights there. The bed was incredibly comfy and the suite spacious and relaxing. Lynda is a delightful and entertaining host who takes a genuine interest in her guests and has a real zest for life. The multi-course breakfasts, served by... More

I bet Lynda would get even more five star reviews, but after so many positive comments, it is kind of hard to come up with anything new to say. The suite is beautiful and comfortable and quiet. I thought the bathroom, in particular, was very nice. There were all sorts of snacks and extras for us to enjoy. In the... More

Although just a brief visit, we couldn't have asked for a more attentive, warm and interested host. Lynda went out of her way to make us feel right at home even though we were tired after a long days drive including catching the last tour at Emily Dickinson's house. It was delightful to relax in the impressive flower-filled rear garden... More

Do I even need to chime in with yet another 5 star review for Lynda?? Purple Gables is lovely, conveniently located, tastefully decorated, and yes, the breakfasts are superb. Our family of 4 was very comfortable here, with one kid on the sofa bed and one in the private single room. But the best part is having such a personality-filled... More

Lynda really looks after her guests! The suite is really comfortable and the property is very convbeniently located for the town. The breakfasts are superb and very large - you can easily miss out on lunch! However the warmth of welcome from Lynda and her family was great. She was also very helpful in suggesting places to visit that we... More

I consider myself an avid traveler with a discerning eye for excellence and I was not disappointed at Purple Gables, with host Lynda Faye. From the accommodations (aesthetically pleasing and comfortable decor), to soft luxurious linens, palette pleasing gourmet 3 course breakfasts...but the best part of all was the graciousness and great humor of the host, Lynda. It all added... More

We stayed here, like many, doing the college tour, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lynda is an extremely gracious, thoughtful, and accommodating hostess. When my kids mentioned they weren't fans of eggs, she kindly offered to make them French toast. The food was absolutely delicious, her company most enjoyable, the suite lovely and with all the comforts of home. Should... More
