As a grad student the prices are way too high and Hotwire offers better hotels and deals. It's the same as it was back in 1987. Personally as it's pretty much a dry campus you are better off staying in Amherst Hadley or Northampton.

We here at Hotel UMass want to provide all of our guests with a memorable experience. Checked into room about 5:30PM. Purpose of stay was no power due to Thanksgiving Eve snow storm. We had the unlucky pleasure to find a used sock on the floor near one of the beds near where your young children were playing. Want to compliment the dining service at the Blue Wall

Hello, johnce34: First off, thank you for choosing us during the recent inclement weather given the numerous options in the area. I completely understand the dissatisfaction caused by the sock that was found in your room. That is certainly not the level of cleanliness that we wish to provide our guests. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be sharing... More

This hotel is comfortable and in a great location. The desk staff was friendly and the breakfast in the lobby was excellent! Wonderful parking garage in the hotel. All in all, this is an excellent choice for those visiting Amherst.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel UMass as part of a getaway weekend for our anniversary. We wanted to stay somewhere that was not a chain, so we could get some local flavor. We thought Hotel UMass was a perfect choice but quickly realized that our romantic weekend felt more like a throwback to our college years. Granted,... More

The hotel is unusual because you enter through the students center, where there is a food court, with many places to eat, as well as a grocery store and the school bookstore. The rooms were very clean, comfy beds as well. The continental breakfast was great as well. The hotel is very handy if you are visiting the college or... More

I stayed at the UMass Hotel for one night for a conference. The rooms are clean, but the bathroom is a bit small. The beds are comfortable and there enough pillows for every person in the room. The Wifi did not work for anyone. Unfortunately the room was right across from the elevators, which can be noisy at times. Breakfast... More

Hotel Umass was a great value: modern, clean, comfortable and staffed by an eager-to-please and very welcoming crew of university students that made our visit quite pleasant in spite of a couple housekeeping glitches. The room itself was fine (bed and pillows could've been a little more comfortable, but they were not unacceptable). We were in Amherst to check out... More

Stayed for 3 nights while at a conference. Rooms were small but clean. Bathrooms were tiny. The hand soap smells great! Room was comfy and clean. Not the most comfy bed. Difficult to get online. No tubs only showers.

I brought my wife to my 'Geosciences Alumni Reunion for a 3 night stay in October 2014. We found it to be comfortable and conveniently located in the heart of the campus and very close to the first-rate bookstore and "Blue Wall's" dining facilities. There was a continental breakfast in the lobby featuring organic oatmeal, all kinds of bagels, fruit,... More

My family and I spent two nights at Hotel Umass in August 2014 while touring colleges in the area. It was an extremely enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location was perfect and convenient for touring the entire Amherst/Northampton region. Although there was some construction in progress in the hotel lobby, we were not terribly inconvenienced. The parking lot was secure.... More
