We spent two nights recently at the Governor Calvert facility of the Historic Inns of Annapolis and we were very pleased. The neighborhood is quiet but immediately adjacent to the main street and opposite the Maryland capitol building. Our room (231) was large and at the end of a hallway . . . quiet location. The bathroom was very nice... More

We were there for a wedding. Our room was very nice, and comfortable. Quiet as well. We didn't hear any hallway or between-room noise. All in all, a good experience. But, a few minor negatives: The hotel offers valet parking (for a $24/ night fee). There was a valet stand outside (not staffed). When we checked in, we had to... More

We came here for an office Christmas Party and absolutely loved the place. The historic inns are 3 separate inns; we were staying at the Maryland House and the only tiny inconvenience is having to drive to one of the other inns in order to check in and get valet chauffeured to your inn since parking is so scarce in... Room was nice, updated, clean and quiet. Location at the top of Main street can't be beat for dining, shopping and close to Naval Academy. Room was in the Maryland Inn, which is a different building from where you check in. Use the valet service for your car, it is much more convienient than a parking garage. We walked to... More

Historic Inns of Annapolis runs three different historic Inns in Annapolis. I checked into their "front desk" area on State Circle and was given keys to my room at the Maryland Inn, just a few minutes walk around the corner on Church Circle. A valet offered to walk with me and carry my suitcase and also park my car, but... More

Good points: Rooms are nicely refurbished, and the overall presentation of the inn was good. Nicely situated in the town and nice view of the State building. Friendly staff. Not so great points: The first room I was put in was right next to the boiler cupboard on the top floor which was incredibly noisy. I had to request to... More

This is a perfectly good hotel; rooms, staff etc all very good. In fact the parking valet is positively heroic on the weekends. My big issue - and the sole reason for the 'poor' rating - was that my room was in no way at all "historic". A fair expectation I think when staying in a so-called historic inn. The... More

We stayed at the Governor Calvert Inn. The 3rd floor. Our room was quite modern with edgy wall paper that still gave a nod to early american influence. Other than our toilet and commode backing up (which was repaired quickly), we really were surprised that the hotel was so nice considering the reasonable rates. Located right bside the capitol building... More

I have stayed in two of their inns 7 or 8 times. Always enjoy it . It's not a 5 star hotel, but is well worth the money. They are clean, offer parking, and have friendly staff. All 3 are walking distance to all downtown attractions .

My husband and I recently spent a night in the lovely governor Calvert House. The staff could not have been more helpful.
