This is the place if you want just get away and experience a rustic simplicity, freshness and quietness. This is truly one of those places that my wife and I will ensure stays at the top of our list even if it is just to stop in for a warm hello and grab a quick cup of tea and visit... More

We felt welcome from the first steps in the door at this little B & B! A tour of the house that displayed many farmhouse antiques and aesthetically pleasing. It was like stepping back in time with modern conveniences. For the three day stay at Wabi Sabi, we felt like we were at home. The view from the back porch,... More

Wabi Sabi Cottage in Alna, Maine is one of those rare gems where EVERYTHING is in perfect harmony! From the cheery sunflowers arching over the welcoming sign in front, to the freshly-washed sheets drying in the sun and soft breeze, to the tantalizing scent of homemade muffins baking, to the serene views of the water slowly rising and falling in... What a wonderful treat it was to stay at Wabi Sabi Cottage. The cottage is so thoughtfully furnished with an extensive collection of antiques carefully assembled by Joan the innkeeper which made you feel so at home as soon as you walked through the door The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable with a great attention to detail. It... More

We ADORED Wabi Sabi Cottage. There were two claw-foot bathtubs in the bathroom and no Cialis in sight!!! Joan's breakfasts were to die for: divine homemade scones, sticky buns, eggs any way you like them and other tasty, yummy homemade delights and stimulating conversation. The view from our window was mesmerizing as we watched the tide ebb and flow. We... More

We stayed for two nights at the end of our 10 day vacation to Maine, celebrating our 30th anniversary. The Sheepscot room was a peaceful oasis at the end of each day. One can lie in bed and dreamily gaze onto the Sheepscot river or choose one of the two claw foot tubs for a relaxing soak while reading about... More

I was with two other photographers cruising the back roads of Alna and we cam upon this sweet looking place and it had and ice cream sign. We got out and started taking photos of what looked like an old bed and breakfast. Joan met us on the porch and saw us snapping away, and we said we were going... More

In the middle of March, we were looking for a place to stay in the Brunswick area, but it seemed that most B and B's in the area were closed for the winter. We were very lucky that another innkeeper referred us to Wabi Sabi Cottage, because our stay could hardly have been more wonderful. The B and B/Cafe is... More

Stayed at Wabi Sabi cottage together with my 16 yr old son in separate rooms and thoroughly enjoyed it! Joan is very hospitable and makes fabulous food. When we arrived mid-afternoon we were treated to tea on the screened in patio overlooking the Sheepscot river. Joan's scones, homemade jam, and fancy ball shaped donuts were delicious. The room in the... More

We like everything about Wabi Sabi. The place is as quirky and adorable as the pictures suggest and the surrounding scenery is breath-taking.The lemon scones and blueberry muffins are to die for and we're not much into baked things and sweets. The wonderful "Horse Eggs" are soft scrambled eggs (straight from the hens you can hear clucking below the porch)... More
