I have stayed several times at Los Cuatro Tulipanes, and each time just love the ambiance, feeling, decor and personal touches at their apartments. When my husband and I decided to have our wedding ceremony in Casco Viejo, one of the first things we did was to book out all of the Monjas Building for our bridal party, which was... More

We are frequent travelers to Panama and have stayed at several different popular establishments. We recentely discovered Los Cuatro Tulipanes and, without question, it was most enjoyable, very well managed and right in the heart of Casco! We had everything we needed, washer and dryer, full kitchen beautiful courtyard and all very clean and spotless. Evan and Sandra were like... More

I stayed at the Casa Mendez in January 2012. I was only there for one night, and had a red-eye flight the next night. Even so, the managers allowed me to stay at the hotel for much of the day after check-out so I wouldn't be out on the street with all my things. Very friendly and welcoming people. I... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay in Casco Viejo in the Monjas 2C apartment run by Los Cuatro Tulipanes, and I have nothing to complain about! The apartment was incredibly clean and well maintained. As promised, we had a coffee maker and kettle in the room, as well as access to coffee grinds and tea bags to make ourselves... More

For our first visit to Panama, we were booked into Los Cuatro, and what a great experience! The apartment (2b) was fully equipped with kitchen (inc microwave for popcorn), a washer/dryer, a nice breeze in the living area and air conditioning in the bedroom. Evan and his mother Sandy were delightful hosts, even booking us for a New Year's Eve... More

We stayed at Los Cuatro Tulipanes. Alot of the great things have already been mentioned by the previous reviewers. However, here are a couple things we liked: - Bios about their employees. We enjoyed learning more about the lovely ladies who work for Tulipanes. We've stayed many places in the world, few have taken time to do write ups about... More

Prior to booking the trip my wife had numerous email discussions with the owners and like everyone else found them to be extremely helpful. We stayed in the Monjas unit (1A). The smell of mold and mildew are overwhelming when you hit the door. If you have mold allergies, as I do, this is not a wise choice. The owners... More

Reviews like these certainly remind us that we are not perfect. Feedback is one of the best ways we can improve the standards at Tulipanes and continue to better the guest experience. Since we have never had this particular complaint before, we contracted mold specialists who explained that all buildings in Casco Viejo, due to their age and the tropical... More

We found this place through our tour guide Luis Calvo of Xplora which turned out to be a great recommendation. Before starting our 9-day adventure trip with Xplora, my husband and I decided to spend a few days (Christmas eve, day and the day after) in Casco Viejo. We met one of the proprietors of the place, Evan Forbes, an... More

Casco Viejo is the area to be, and the apartments at los cuatros tulipanes are beautiful - historic and authentic but with modern amenities. If you dont want a typical impersonal "hotel" experience and instead want to immerse yourself in local Panamanian culture, this is the way to go. Matt and crew are UNBELIEVEABLY helpful - I was a solo... More

I consulted Tripadvisor and guidebooks to figure out the best area of Panama City to stay in. Ended up, after some uncertainty, choosing Casco Viejo. Great choice. It's a wonderful neighborhood, very lively and romantic, full of good restaurants, and with a very comfortable vibe. The Los Cuatro Tulipanes apartments are in the heart of the Casco. Not super-stylish, but... More

One of the lovely things about this guest's visit (and something that applies to a lot of our guests) is that by staying in Casco Viejo, you actually become part of the neighborhood. Whether it's trying and assessing new restaurants with us as they pop open, meeting the owners of shops, or calling new acquaintances on your cell phone, staying... More
