We just returned from Panama this week and stayed 2 nights at the Canal House. It was absolutely incredible. We had the 2 bedroom suite, which was perfect for us and our 2 year old daughter. The house is amazing and location is perfect. Noise was not a problem, although we did hear some music at night but nothing to... More

We thought we were reserving a room at top rated Los Cuatro Tulipanos but were directed to Canal House and told the two places are under the same ownership with Canal House catering more to short term stays. We were not disappointed by this charming late-19th century town house in Panama City's Casco Viejo. Based on our two-night experience, Canal... More

The best part about Canal House was the staff, who went out of their way to be helpful. PAULA was like a personal concierge! The boutique hotel is in a great part of town, walkable to everywhere. Canal House only has three rooms and we chose the smallest, which was limited in closet space. On the other hand we had... More

I stayed in Canal House and had wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms where spotless and the beds where dreamy. The location was perfect and I was able to walk to all the good restaurants and hot spots for drinking and dancing in Panama City. I highly recommend staying at Canal House and can't wait... More

This hotel is a restored building in Casco Viejo. It is a good place to base yourself in Panama City and is not like the high rises downtown. the service is really good and the staff helpful. YOu can walk to many restaurants and bars. Casco Viejo is in a building boom and now is the time to go before... More

This is the place if you are looking for a local experience. We stayed in the Gatun suite, it was amazing. The restoration in the area was not an issue and the loud neighbors have moved on. The area is authentic and charming, the perfect place to stay.

Stayed for three nights in June 2013 in the Gatun Suite. The hotel is very nice. The staff (Ivana and the various housekeepers) are very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, Casco Viejo (a.k.a. Casco Antiguo) is definitely the place to stay if you're visiting Panama City on tourism. It's a quaint neighborhood that is in the process of gentrifying, quite... More

The Canal House is an elegant, well appointed property in one of the landmark buildings in the Casco Viejo old Colonial quarter in Panama City. The hotel is historic and has been very well maintained, although it is now being managed by a new company that is still coming up to speed on providing the service that the property has... More

Our stay at the Canal House was the last night of a wonderful trip. You can't ask for a better location. Casco Viejo is in transition and I was glad to be able to see it this way before it becomes overly touristy. The room was roomy (MIraflores Suite) and tastefully decorated. There is a winding staircase to a sitting... More

There are three suites in this renovated building in the Old City of Panama City. We stayed in Gatun Suite, sharing the room with our adult daughter. The room offered a second sitting room, converted into a bedroom comfortable for one, cozy for two. I think we were the only guests and never saw anyone else. But the unusual part... More
