My two sons (mid 20s) and I stayed at the Balboa Inn for two nights mid-November 2009. The hospitality was great. Everything we needed was taken care of and Gina went out of her way to make sure we had a driver for the day and dinner reservations. Breakfast was ready early. The neighborhood is quiet and in a great... more

We've stayed in Balboa Inn for three days. The B&B is conveniently located in a safe and quiet part of the center of Panama City with the Amador Causeway on a 5 min/ $2 taxi drive thereto. The B&B is clean, its personnel is very hospitable, English speaking and willing to go beyond the call of duty (by e.g. arranging... more

From the service of being picked up at the airport we found it an ideal base to stay at. Staff were very friendly, room comfortable, clean and with air conditioning and fan. We stayed 3 nights then started travelling. Booked again for the last 2 days back in town. Convenient for city, bridge of the Americas, Amador causeway etc. Nice... more

My husband and I stayed at the Balboa Inn one night while in Panama City getting our passports renewed. We had a very positive experience. The service is far beyond what we expected, the premises clean, the water hot, and the breakfast great. Thorwald and his wife have put together an exceptional staff. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and... more

Recently, I had to travel to Panama City with my two cats that have never traveled anywhere. My anxiety level was over the top, but seeing Thorwald's wonderful face at the airport helped put my anxiety to rest. After a 5 minute drive from Albrook, we arrived at the Balboa Inn. I was pleasantly surprised by the immaculately clean rooms.... more

What a pleasant surprise to find such a well run, reasonably priced bed and breakfast in an excellent location. My husband and I travel frequently between Panama City and the States and have been looking for lodging like this. The staff were personable, spoke excellent english and gave us great suggestions where to go for dinner. In fact, there are... more

The Balboa is a gem! They had a driver pick us up at the airport, which was good because we got in after dark. The airport pick up is worth it. Room was clean, with a queen bed, and a nice hot water shower. They serve breakfast in the morning out on the patio, where you can see birds and... more

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in Panama recently. We spent four nights at the Balboa Inn and were pleasantly surprised by the "Happy Anniversary" bottle of complimentary wine set out for us in our room - what a nice touch! The service was great from breakfast to cleaning to helping us organize and plan some of... more

My husband and I and 2 friends were arriving in Panama City and then leaving the next day for Bocas del Toro. We needed something for just the one night that wasn't extravagantly priced. The Balboa was perfect. Upon first arriving we were rather skeptical but after stepping into the foyer and being greeted so warmly we knew we were... more
