Stayed at the Country Inn & Suites/Panama Canal at the end of a week deep in the interior. The hotel has a good location at the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. It fronts on a popular bike & walking pathway that leads out onto the Causeway, with it's beautiful views of the City, and many restaurants. We didn't rent... more

I was surprised to read a very negative review of this hotel by someone who stayed there a week after we did. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in an excellent location. You can get most anywhere around Panama City by cab from the hotel or from the nearby streets for about... more

Stayed here as part of an Elderhostel tour of Panama and the Panama Canal. The room/suite was "cookie cutter" furnished, but huge. Bed was comfortable, other furnishings in good shape. Excellent full buffet breakfast served in a room adjacent to the pool, so I could go outside and enjoy the canal view with my Panamanian coffee. Best part of the... more

The location alone makes up for any deficiencies. We were so happy to walk along the canal and have drinks at the outside TGIF cafe. I preferred the Country Inn to the Radisson where we also stayed on our trip to Panama City. The crowded little "gift shop" if full of interesting things. We did not eat breakfast there because... more

Staff were rude and totally incompetent. They had lost our booking. Demanded proof. Had to login to my email and print confirmation for them. Would yawn whilst talking to you or stand with hands in pockets. Breakfast was plastic cups and stale food in a dingy breakfast room Only restaurant is a TGI Fridays (how many chicked wings can you... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 2007. This hotel and rooms are basic, the reception staff are very simple and not particularly helpful. WARNING: They do not accept $100 bills anywhere in Panama, not even in the hotels so have smaller denominations before you arrive in the country. Breakfast is plentiful but very basic. However, the hotel offers... more

I was somewhat anxious about the hotel as I had read all the reviews on Traveltips and they were mixed, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Yes the hotel is older and the room did smell a bit musty/damp, but we put the air on and opened the door to the balcony for about 10 minutes... more

I typically do not like to stay at ‘chain’ hotels when I am out of the United States, but I made an exception because of the reviews and the potential for a ‘room with a view’ of the Panama Canal. I was not disappointed in the least. The canal side rooms have balconies overlooking the canal near the Bridge of... more

I stayed here with my family on a vacation last january. We liked it so much we decided to return to panama next January to stay in the hotel again. The Balcony view of the Pacific Ocean, Panama Canal and the bridge of the americas was very interesting. The Hotel was nice and clean and full of low key luxury.... more
