If you don't speak Spanish, don't stay here. They only speak Spanish, and even with my basic Spanish, it was kind of hard. The people are nice and friendly, and the place is clean, but it's pretty basic and I think it was a bit more expensive than it should've been. There's free wifi, which is great, and the air... This posada in residential El Carmen is centrally located, with buses and taxis close by - either they can call one for you, or maybe easier, just walk out to the main street and flag one down. You are also a short walk or cab ride from numerous bars and restaurants in El Cangrejo. Our room was upstairs, with a... More

My husband and I stayed here the first day on our honeymoon. It was great for one night. The room was clean, service was friendly, and we had a nice breakfast. It was a bit expensive for what you get though. The walls are very thin as well! We woke up at 7am hearing the family next door. Didn't bother... More

To see the pictures on INTERNET and the price range was what made me decide to reserve and check in! But after getting there and seeing and being there it was better than the pictures by far, which is usually the other way around usually at most places.. I can recommend Posada Nueva Venecia before I can blink my eyes... More

My correspondence with the hotel owner/manager was friendly, prompt and helpful. This made getting a booking organised easy. Service upon check-in was nice enough but the lady that seemed to be on during the day was a bit amiss...she felt a bit unapproachable but did nothing to warrant that feeling. The hotel itself is decorated with nice furniture but the... More

Given the glowing reviews, we expected more than we felt we got. The hotel was kept very clean by friendly housekeeping staff. Although clean, it was not very well maintained. We had to be moved from the original room we were placed in because the original one's curtains didn't open (we were going to be there for 6 nights, so... More

In the leafy, residential El Carmen neighborhood of Panama City sits Posada Nueva Venecia, the inn of Venezuelan brothers Alfredo and Rafael Noguera. Alfredo and Rafael came to Panama just five years ago, but whatever local insider knowledge they may be lacking for the benefit of their guests is more than made up by their friendliness and helpfulness—they really make...
