A thief came into our room late at night, where we were staying with our 1 yr. old daughter. We reported it to the night watchmen, but the next day to my surprise nobody came to repair the doors which did not close properly, or to check how we were or if anything had bee taken. The staff was not... more

Our overall experience at Hotel Vistamar was very positive. We stayed for one week, and our last night in Nicaragua was spent at Best Western Las Mercedes directly across the road from the airport in Managua (you can check out, and walk right across the street to the airport). We found the location on the ocean be perfect for relaxation.... more

I´ve been living in Managua for 6 yrs now and I go to the other hotel M one weekend every other month last couple of yrs. I read all reviews negatives and positives of Hotel Vistamar. I decided to try myself. This is my personal openion from one night stay. There was NO hotwater, phone and TV NOT working, attitude... more

I am really shocked to read the previous review. I had the exact opposite experience. I was at the Vistamar Hotel with my Mother from July 22 through August 1 2008. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful place. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you are looking for a fancy resort, this is not the place... more

This place is horrible. I stayed for one night (I had made a reservation for 5, but just had to leave) in cockroach infested room, the door would neither shut nor lock, the beach smells like Managua -- burning trash everywhere, and there was no hammock, no warm water, the phone would not work, and they somehow charged me $270.00... more

As residents of Central America, we consider this place very poor value for money. No hot water, TV not working. No hammocks. Staff unhelpful. One reason for booking was the website's glowing description of their restaurant - this was closed and no-one could tell us why. The adequate accomodation, pools and average beach don't justify the cost. more

I spent six nights at the Hotel Vistamar with my wife and one-year-old son at the end of February and beginning of March, 2008. Overall, the experience was very positive. As others have mentioned, the beach is fantastic--big, wide, sandy, and while we were there, practically deserted. A couple of smaller annoyances on the beach are the noise from four-wheelers... more

We just came back from a week at the Hotel Vistamar. The only way I can expain it is paradise. We enjoyed the ocean front bungalows, early morning walks on miles of beautiful beach, reading in our own hammocks, and cocktails by the pool. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Not many of the people speak English, but it... more

We chose this place over Montelimar as it looked like it would provide a more quiet stay. It did. The bungalows are great and we stayed in one furthest from the pool area (which I would recommend as it is not smack up against other bungalows and felt more private). You cannot beat the beachfront views, the hammocks, and the... more

We stayed at this nice bundalow-style hotel for a couple of nights in november. It is definitely the best place to stay in Pochomil, especially if you don't like the all-inclusive resorts that look the same all over the world. Nice pools, good food (although you can eat for less than half the price and much better at the Alta... more
