We stayed just one night before going to Nicaragua. The place is ok, but it was difficult to find it, even for a taxi driver. The owners are lovely and helpfull. The rooms are simple but ok. The restrooms are outside the bedrooms but very close to the rooms.

Hostal Dona Marta is run by a very friendly man and his wife. It has large clean rooms, and the owners are very helpful in giving advice on what to see and do, giving maps, etc. It is fairly close to the historic centre of San Salvador. The food at this hostal is really good, although it does take them... More

I found this hotel through Trip Advisor, and it was on of the BEST ideas to stay there. Rooms are big and confortable, and also have good prices. Eduardo and Kricia, the owners, are EXCELLENT persons; also all their family!. They really made us fell like if we were at home. They helped us with everything: talking us to the... More

We ended up staying here for almost a week. The breakfasts are awesome, the room was big, cool and airy, even without AC, and the shower was warm. It's a nice place, secure and safe, with a local family. We just hung out here a lot, the kids did some school work, played with the owner's kids and dogs and... More

Nothing bad could be said about this hostal; the friendliness, attentiveness, helpfulness and delicious free breakfast make up for any shortcomings. Just some things need to be addressed before they start generating bad reviews. Stay here if you want to feel like you`re with family or old friends because that`s what this hostal is all about. Party hardy, stay out... More

My dad stayed here for two months, and Eduardo and Kricia took such good care of him! They allowed him to Skype home, made sure he had plenty to eat, and even showed concern when he was sick! His room was simple, but clean and cool. Highly recommend them!

I flew into San Salvador Aug 4th and was a little nervous. The owner Eduardo picked me up at the airport for the same price as a taxi $30,00 He is very friendly and helpful and goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant. The hostal was clean, quiet with a lot of trees and safe The rooms are... More

My husband spent a month in this family-owned and run hostel while on assignment. Eduardo and Crissya are a professional couple with 2 friendly young daughters who open their lovely home in the heart of San Salvador. They take kind care of guests and offer a tranquil, happy, comfortable environment to stay and work. Crissya speaks enough English to be... More

Our family stayed here with a delegation of US travelers (13 all together) for two nights then again on our return from the countryside at the end of our trip in El Salvador. The hosts were generous, kind and caring people. They served delicious food at every meal, provided a quiet, safe place for people to rest and recuperate. My... More

The first thing we should say is that we speak little spanish, which is clearly our fault. However, the owners speak very little english which made everything difficult. The hostel was very difficult to find. Our taxi driver had to phone them 3 times to get us there. The location is not good, out in suburbia far from any attractions... More
